From Good Ebening to Howe are you today😂

I feel sorry for Toon as Unai Emery is a very good Mgr. Not sure what happened? Eddie Howe is a good choice to survive EPL but I’m not sure if he is the choice to bring Newcastle up the next level though. i suppose Howe could come in to steady the ship n he can be removed later if an elite Mgr is  required? Don’t quite like this method of chopping n changing but seems it works for Chelsea!

there is no clear vision at newcastle yet. their new owner never own a football club before and knowledge about pro football is also limited i think.

they not only need a decent manager ,but a good director /board to oversee the the growth and investment.

u can bet howe task is to make sure they stay in epl this season only.

the good thing is i haven see them throwing senseless money in yet.

They haven’t throw senseless $ cos transfer window not opened yet, let’s wait till January to see.

Yes a good DoF is a must. Marc Overmars or Edwin van der Sar could be good choices or the very experienced Monchi at Sevilla but he didn’t do well in Serie A when he last left Sevilla. Either of the Dutch duo could mean the Ajax boss Erik ten Haag could be the chosen Mgr whilst if Monchi was chosen, Unai Emery could still come or Lopetegui though Emery would be the better choice for he has EPL experience.

I read unai emery quote" question the Newcastle board on its new direction for the club".

He and Eddie Howe were shortlisted and of totally different managerial style.  Apparently the club has no definite  directive in place.

That was what put unai off according to the report.

I go find the link.

Quote.

"Emery has released a statement confirming that he held talks with Newcastle but will stay at Villarreal.

Following Villarreal’s 2-0 win in the UEFA Champions League against Young Boys on Tuesday, Emery gave some cryptic answers when asked about Newcastle’s interest in him.

He confirmed that interest was there, but stopped short of saying any official approach had been made and that he wanted to join Newcastle to become the first manager appointed by their new Saudi Arabian-led ownership group.

Since then, Spanish journalist Guillem Ballague has stated that Emery will reject Newcastle’s approach, is happy at Villarreal and didn’t feel like Newcastle had a clear plan for where they wanted the club to go".

Talksport understands the Spanish coach was unhappy with the timing of Newcastle’s interest surfacing, on the day of a crucial Champions League game.

It was also suggested he was not convinced by the direction the club want to go in and is concerned about the lack of ‘clear vision’ from their new owners.

Emery and Eddie Howe were down to a final shortlist of two to replace Bruce, and The Spaniard’s camp believe that showed Newcastle are not completely certain on their direction, with the managers boasting very different playing styles.

Saudi turn Newcastle from a football club and a great one to a media circus.

The poor manager will work in a goldfish bowl.

His smallest mistake will be scrutinized.

How to work like that?

Good news.

Newcastle will sign second choice Eddie.

Not so steady.

:D

That's like saying we only signing you because Unai didn't want to come.

Manchester United are spending almost £87.5m more on wages each year than Liverpool, according to a report.

US sports finance website Spotrac claim, via the Daily Mirror, that the additions of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane during the summer have seen United's wage bill soar to the £226.6m per year, with £85m of that being spent on their forward line as the Old Trafford club scramble to try and return to their glory days.

That wage bill places them at the top of the Premier League list, in front of Chelsea (£162.6m) in second, with Manchester City (£143.1m) in third.

According to the data, Liverpool are fourth on the list with an annual spend at present of £139.2m, a figure that is £39.4m higher than the next placed team on the list, Arsenal.

3 centre backs marking no one

because City plays without a striker!

:D

Because the 3 CB have no one to mark any cross coming in

means they get in each other's way and scores own goals.

Because the 3 CB have no one to mark no one know who to pick

up a midfielder running in from deep. CB's job to track the runner or Left back?
