Good practice is important, there will be no cross threads if the tyreman will to  wire bush the wheel hub stubs before screwing the lug nuts. Simple and effective.

brush also no use lol.

cross thread happen when they did turn in the first few round enough. and also some car the bolts material is lousy.

Ideally la.. But where got workshop do such a thing one.

Wire-brush the wheel hub before mounting the tyre? Apply copper grease to the wheel hub before mounting the tyre?

Hell no. Never seen such a thing happen before.

In fact, the first time I saw a workshop break out a torque wrench to tighten the wheel lug nuts, I almost dropped my pants.

No point Calibrate..costed $80.00..if not accurate..cannot even adjust for you.

So buy a new one better?

Huh dun waste time n money.  No 1 go recalibrate torque wench 1. Esp for wheel nuts.

My torque wench like 12 years already.  Brought 300+-long ago also never recalibrate even once

Wheel nuts aren't the only thing I use it for.. I use for my brake calipers and also when I dismantle my car seats for cleaning. Basically anything that's got torque spec - I use the torque wrench on it...

@Comage Yes,buy new one cheaper, but if your Old One,still working fine, why waste $$$.?Accuracy not that important on Cars, esp on Wheel Bolts[+/-10 Nm is alright],only if you doing Engine & Gearbox you need to be more Precise...Esp your Torque Wrench are ''Budget'' Type from China, even when new,i doubt it's Accuracy is up to standard...p/s show us a picture of your Torque Wrench,i can judge for you.

Supersonic

If you want to save on the trouble and expenses, stop doing tyre rotation.

Just replace them per axle (2 tyres) as they wear out.

As long as your wheels are properly aligned, you should not have uneven wear until the tyres wear out.

i thought of doing that as my FWD wears the front much much faster than the rears.

however i once tried a rotation after 20k km. ended up the rears were slightly cupped. and oh boy were they even more noisy when moved to the front.

@Comage Good Enough..

This kind, like you said, cannot use for engine is it?

I tuned it and tried to torque my intake manifold bolts... Ended up shearing off the bolt head. Sigh...

Intake Manifold Bolts need to change to new ones once taken out from Engine..High Heat for many Years can weaken them..making them Brittle..
