Yeah, individual and respected. I feel they are not premium as Merc and BMW in my opinion of apple to apple comparison. I probably just a boring driver who does not really need the RWD or that powerful drive like my boss' XC60. I prefer smooth and quiet ride. Thus, I choose it. Anyway, will still have 5 years of free and easy decision as this may not be the right time to change

Lexus also got powderful car la.  Just that nobody buys it in Sg.

If Lexus is not better than Toyota, who will pay so much more to buy them and gets suan by others that you are driving a glorified Toyota? To me, if you can drive a Lexus then you are somewhere up there in the society. Who cares if ppl say you are driving Toyota? They are just "cannot eat the grapes then say the grapes is sour"

When I was still driving my GS450h, whenever I call up workshop to get quote for car services such as PPI/painting/servicing, I will tell them I drive a Toyota (if they ask).... and sometimes I get a higher quote when drove down when they saw the actual car....

When confronted with the discrepancy, they will usually give some bull crap about costlier parts (fyi, all parts are labelled toyota and cross platform used), bigger surface area etc.😒

That is when I usually do a U-turn and go to another shop.😁

I believe even the price for car servicing at BM for Toyota and Lexus is difference, right? Although it seems like parts are shared. 😂

Yes, absolutely. My dad's an ardent Toyota loyalist having gone through a few models...so I have his servicing and repair bills for reference. Although not a direct part to part comparison, I do get a general feel that an artificial premium was layered into the Lexus bill.

I never say they don't have. Just I don't need, my own car is good enough. When I drive here in Tomyam land and goes back to sit in my own car. I feel like I am in a vacuum with no sound. Haha

I always find it funny when you bought a pricey item or "overpriced" item and get "suan" by others.

if you are of a higher level/SES people then by all means.

if you are sour grapes/cant afford/dont wanna spend that kind of $, then its a joke.

Personally, I bought a Lexus for the perception of reliability, refined drive and at that time the attraction of a premium sports hybrid. If badge is such a big deal, I wouldn't have chosen it in the first place as there are much more "premium/status" badge to be found with the German marque.

If a premium marque is not known for performance/handling, the very least they should do is one up on their competition in the luxury department which they have failed to outshine.

Look at Supra.... Why was it not parked under Lexus F-sport?

The price premium that BM artificially imparted to the Lexus brand is not matched by the level of service and exclusivity to overcome the brand's relative dismal technological /driving innovations.

You can only say they made my harrier look more like Lexus instead of RX become more like Harrier 😂. Maybe this can save some ego of yours hahaha.

personally I find lexus way too sporty and Toyota look more luxury, which should be the other way

they sell more Toyota than lexus, they have to maintain market to younger gen hence design it closer to lexus. You want you buy, you don’t like there’s plenty of other cars for you to buy and enjoy, no point debating lol, not like Toyota choke you to buy

Thats why i love my prev harrier as it feels close to lexus yet paying close to half of its price

just that its not as powerful or more refined like lexus

Yeah, even same engine they also tuned it to be more powerful, might not be faster than Toyota since lexus tend to be heavier, e.g. harrier vs nx350.

Part of the money paid for servicing package, like $400+ per service even for minor oil change, hahaha. But tbh Lexus at least gives better food. My Audi now go servicing they used to give Delifrance, now drop standard to give Polar cakes! 😂😂

Buying car should not be too bothered with some of the trivial frills such as the food during the servicing - which Lexus does well, but you pay through the nose for the catered food.

It is best to buy a car that doesn’t need service🤭

For recent Lexus purchase, i think the package comes with 3 or 5 years free servicing... meaning to say the food are also included.. 😀 and servicing for Lexus is more frequent compared to BBA...
