Based on the photo, the Lexus ES taxi got sunroof.

Difficulty installing the rooftop sign due to space constraint?

Nah. Many taxi in australia also have sunroof.
Incompetency of the local workshops to install.

$300K at most for the ES taxi, given that COE is based on PQP of Cat A instead of Cat B premium (~$36K cheaper basing on Nov data), as well AS further discounts for fleet purchase.

Also, lifespan for hybrid taxi is 8 years instead of 7 years. So it work out to be ~$100/day. That translates to 100% markup, which is excessive, imo.

Unlike rental car or leasing, road tax is paid by the taxi driver, so Comfort Delgro only covers the  maintenance (which high likely is included in the deal with Borneo Motors) and insurance.

Errrr... i don't recall taxi drivers paying any road tax for diesel taxis, is this something new for hybrid taxis that hirers have to pay the road tax? cannot be leh.

$200 per day is divided by 2 drivers to share 2 shift per day, so it is about $100 per shift, sounds ok.

taxi drivers are very picky about shifts nowadays.. not everyone wants to work the graveyard shift :D

I think many taxi drivers only have 1 shift, mainly they do day shift, cause i always see taxis that parked in my house carpark here always parked in the carpark at night until next day morning.

Means taxi drivers business is good, that's why they can be so picky? 😂

Good or not, they eat what they kill, good or bad is very subjective.

But this profession also brings out all their personality traits and it's not always positive

Yes, the tradition was the main hirer would work the day shift and a relief driver would work the night shift. Things have started to change because I'm guessing lesser people wanna work the night shift.

So for those you mentioned, they are probably unable to find a suitable relief driver for the night shift.

I never heard of this before, does this apply to hybrid taxis or limo taxis?

How to see the taxi from far siah esp during the day time when the taxi sign has no lights lit up. My old flowery eyes surely cannot spot this lexus taxi lo. 😅

You can stop any white colour Lexus. My boss has one white LS, please stop him and harass.
