Looking at these disruptive protests, I am so glad Singapore bans protest except at designated space. It seems like they are brainwashed by some cult, even religious people are not so crazy.

Now garment want us to eat less meat...all for the carbon footprint initiative by donno when and by donno which smart alec...

Next time host national banquet jiak salads first then talk...😁

Cow farts alone contributes nearly 1/3 of global methane emissions.   The developed world should cut meat consumption by 20% and scrap all their 5L cars/ trucks before demanding developing world to shut down their fossil fuel power plants.

Same with claypot chicken rice.

These activists are mostly just bums and hippies.   They arent even logical or reasonable anymore.  Western world is screwed up.
The activists themselves know that they wont be prosecuted in those western countries.  Try doing that in this part of the world and see what happens!

Hope they succeed in their countries. Less demand means cheaper oil for us!

Our cartel will still price high high.... not relevant to us.

And if price really go down, our garment will quick hand quick leg add another 50cts tax.

The UK ones are educated, half are retired, and most in paid employment.

Bums and hippies do want to stop oil, but they can't afford to. It's like the argument about eating well to be healthy, only the rich have a choice.

The principle of stopping our use of oil is a correct one, their tactics are not........ I mean, what are we supposed to do next week if we just stop?

Even the originator of the movement in the US is beginning to recognise tactics are turning people against them, and hence their message.

Add the problem of Thermal Runaway of EV batteries as witnessed by the destruction in the last week of "Freemantle Highway" in the North Sea and the complete burning down of a home (est. USD1m) in the US when an electric MB was parked, not charging, in the garage, highlights that change for change's sake is equally dangerous. Add in the mining of Nickel, Cadmium and other heavy metals to make (unstable) batteries then just stopping oil, right now, causes more damage than it solved.

With these guys in the UK, given their current contribution to worldwide pollution is less than 1%, their tactic of stopping traffic actually just makes matters worse.

Bring on Nuclear Fusion and Green Hydrogen.

During the covid period where all commercial aircraft was grounded. Can any environmental group tell us how much ozone layer was recovered?

are we focusing on what we use or are we focusing on what is causing the depletion?

I don't know about any environmental group but I know what NASA quoted.

Emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) – which create ozone, a danger to human health and to climate – decreased 15% globally, with local reductions as high as 50%, according to a study led by scientists at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California.

Air and Marine transport each contribute around 2% to world CO2 emissions compared to around 12% for road transport...... roughly.

Deforestation and crop burning tops over 5.5% of emissions so we should be preserving the environment we have, more importantly than mining it for nickel, cadmium, cobolt, and others for cheap @ss batteries that self-ignite and burn forever as soon as look at them. Countries are clearing hectares of land for new mega-plants to make batteries so we can add that to environmental damage.

Nobody talks, yet, about the environmental impact of burning cars and now, car transporters that must be left to burn themselves out.

Not saying O&G isn't dangerous or dirty but we shouldn't just blindly replace one technology with another that is potentially more harmful.

Too bad.

China leads EV tech now with EU following it.

EU big 3 car companies are setting R&D in China.

America still sticking to fossil fuel while Japan is nowhere near commercialisation of Nitrogen.
