Short term conversion to off peak car?

Have a 2019 attrage, mostly driven by my wife now who is going to give birth in April next year. Thus 4m long maternity leave, maybe going to extend abit longer too.

Considering whether to sell and reap the coe gains or to hold but maybe switch to off peak car for that period?

Does it make sense to switch to off peak for a short 4-6m period?

Must be at least 6mths. Then you get back $1100. But you need to pay for the conversion, number plate and seal. Maybe $200plus. But you also get to save on insurnace and rdtax. So should be around $1k savings in the end.

Ya, either rent out or you drive once a while. 4 months passes quite fast. Find no point convert to temp OPC and then convert back again.

If you also have another car, then sell the attrage.

If sell liao, difficult and ex to buy another car now liao. Esp after his wife 4 months maternity leave over, no car to drive. 😅

after birth, i think you will need the car more. Baby need to go see pedi, take vaccine, visit in-laws places, buy grocery.

To save your sanity, i think with a car standby will be better.

anyway, congrats to your newborn!

Don't convert. You'll need the car to run errands. Like buy milk powder, diaper, etc.

Unless you have another car yourself. Then maybe weekend drive the attrage while weekday drive your own car. Rmb to do PM on the attrage every 2-3 days.
