Over 100k then its a good time to change out the brake booster pump especially for an EV.

That pump has to work harder because of the extra weight of the batteries.

I also scared to drive these cars!

Some don't even drive straight, don't know how many times the front wheels hit the kerb!

Some the brakes almost dead and then you take a long trip and come down mountains.

I think next trip to Cameron Highlands I will rent a rental car for my MIL.

Pay her back for cutting my brake lines last time!

I rent from LCR, they have their own maintenance crew and workshop. Honestly, I think they are quite professional.

They have repaired accident damage, maybe partly contracted out, I'm not sure. They have replaced the hybrid battery, and of coz tyres, bulbs, etc.

My maintenance is almost like every month (10k km), since i drive quite a bit. But I don't venture out of Sg.

For those unfamiliar with toyota hybrid, their brake pedal auto trigger Regen braking for stage 1 and only trigger classic hydraulic brakes if additional stopping power needed. This is automatic behavior.

So TS go downhill is no burden on brakes.

How Does the Prius Shifter B Mode Work?

Much like with a conventional car, downshifting into the B mode on a Prius causes the engine to spin faster than it needs to. When this happens, the energy required for it to do so causes the car to slow down.

The energy is expended through vacuum losses and is essentially “wasted” energy but works to help extend your brakes’ life and prevent overexertion

I always thot more regen braking better as more energy for the battery!
