Some said that the case was politically motivated, especially after Glenn Knight mentioned in his book, "The Prosecutor", that Tan Koon Swan was wrongly convicted and he was technically an innocent man. This has prompted ACG to issue a press release in Sep 2012 to clarify on the matters.

But he still got accolades in msia so that seems like he was scapegoated?  Peter seems to be the main culprit behind this
