For me, I no longer willing to pay for a car that cost more than SGD 300k if the 0-100 is more than 7 secs. It's hard to justify nowadays.

Wow ..nice informative discussion. Singaporeans have proven me wrong. Many are not badge conscious compared to previous generations. It's the value factors that one derives from the purchase which in this case a big ticket item. Perhaps if I had come across this thread earlier maybe I might have not bought a pre owned ice car. I might have considered EVs or even hybrids of equivalent price range or lower. But in the meantime just enjoy first lah.

Got a G20 320 M sport. I was thinking then likely my next change (if I am still around) in 2030 is a EV. So gonna just enjoy another round of ICE car before it really goes into the museum. So this is how I arrived at this decision at that time. But still enjoying the car though but need to be mindful of expensive repairs and maintenance down the road (hopefully within limits!)

I am guessing the owner is ole man.

Well, i am RIGHT.

These cars are getting ole.

Old man don't like tech, they like traditional cars, as traditional as possible.

Your 320 is a very well balanced and nice car to drive, it's also got decent power at 0-100 in 7.1 seconds. So I don't think you're missing out much in terms of Cat A EVs.

The G20 320 is a good car. Nothing to regret

It's more well balanced compared to F10 520. Pleasure to drive. Refined yet sporty if needed. I would have been happy with a new Altis honestly but hack just go for it. Think too much will not get anything in the end. Cars in SG is more than a transport. It's an extension of my personality and priorities. It's never justifiable financially. Lots of my peers don't drive but derive satisfaction thru digits in the bank balances. That's enough for these group. Nothing wrong. To each his own 🙂

W210 & 211 are the "Darkest" Era of Mercedes Benz,W211,suffered from Fuel Pump & Fuel Tank issues.,Fuel Pump lasts only 6 Months.

My friend's w211 had its entire wire harness replaced.

But at least during that era, the mercs were technologically a bit superior compared to B and B cars and better equipped.

The front grill design and greyed out side panel looks cheapo more like a Hyundai Elantra, like kernah cost-cutting max due to pressure from China EVs LOL.

Sad to see Audi resorting to such cost-cutting measures. However, this could ultimately be beneficial for the automotive industry, as declining sales among continental brands—sustained mainly by loyal customers seeking badge prestige—may prompt a necessary transformation. Such market pressure could usher in a new era where automakers are compelled to deliver better quality and value at more reasonable prices.

Brand and status appeal can only endure when backed by genuine value. Take Rolex, for example: it continues to command astronomical prices because of its unmatched craftsmanship and precision, qualities that are difficult to replicate and which preserve its long-term resale value.

Whereas the perceived value of conti cars has been fading rapidly in recent years, as rising prices and reduced quality have eroded the confidence of even their most devoted followers.
