Notice how the gahmen seem to say VERY positive things to boost up economic sentiments ?

I can imagine what the PM would be saying:

"We have braved the worst, and the good tidings are coming, the economy is looking good, but we have to stay vigilant, and not to let the good times blind our eyes, as the gloom is not far from over... yada yada yada.."

Same with newspaper headlines:

"Economy picking up, says PM, but becareful"

"Employment rates up, although some may be retreched"..

"ERS should last for 4 years to offset GST"

Just plain tired of the news. GST up by just one percent, and if you buy from retailers, there's no GST to pay, but hey, retailers buy from wholesalers, and they are charged too. So... As I usually buy my Nestle Coffee can at $1.20, now they charge me $1.30... That's an eight percent increase, same with cigarettes.. Inflation also up by 1 or 2 percent, according to gahment, but how come everything rise more than that? I have no idea..

opportunity costs factored in mah....

opportunity that fewer people are buying/ eating out, so have to charge more to make up for the lost revenue due to fewer numbers.... laugh.gif

worse still, my regular hor fun stall upped the price from 2.50 to 3.00.

is that a 1% GST hike ?
