Actually flushing of AC system.  Its really up to Indv.

WS theory is if we need to change engine oil. Auto oil. Then inside the ac system there are oil also . Why dun need change?

Make sense? But the machine for flushing AC system is only popular from around 10 or 15  years ago.

Some machine got a transparent cup. U can see your old and dirty oil being suck out slowly. Then new oil pump in. Most owner that love their car like their wife will love the feeling.

But there is a catch. When they flush or suck out your old compressor oil. There is a strong vacuum force at work.

If your car is old and certain jap and kimchi model where the cooling coil is thin.

After u flush your ac system . The cooling coil leak instead.

Workshop load of crock! Engine oil is different. There are combustion gases and blow by plus the temperature is many times higher.
I would liken compressor oil to be more like rear differential. But the wear is also very much less.
home Aircon works for much longer hours. My home Aircon on original factory charge gas and on every day for 10hrs for 5years.
also like @Gnahp said, fridge? Got change ah? You should ask workshop. My fridge work 24/7 for the last 15years…. How?

that’s why I say many but not all local mechanics and workshops are shit. Uneducated ones spouting nonsense and selling snake oil.

Flushing like you said only became popular last 15years. Cause already spent $$ to buy the machine, of course must come up with some cock story to recoup ROI.

Went to new luck recently becos ac suddenly not cold...could be due to the hot weather...no sign of condenser or clutch plate issue...added gas since the ac pipe showed no condensation...must be low in gas...once it's topped up...could immediately see the condensation droplets...also added oil to the system to see if there's any leak...told to monitor in a week...if not cold again...can next try the sealant before the last draw which is to ripe out dashboard to look at the cooling coil unit...🤞😁

See if it’s a slow of fast leak. Mine had a slow leak will take close to 8mths to leak. Some pin hole on the evaporator. Decided change. Didn’t want to keep topping up even though it was cheaper even in the long run. OCD!  Was $400 at L&kim vs top up $20 each time. 🤣

very troublesome lah. unless it's like some connector/hose leaking.

Aircon fail is really a torture in our climate.

Once aircon got problem, i'd just change immediately. Who got so much time to keep going for refrigerant gas top off.

This is not for flushing when the whole ac system is installed and working properly.

This 1 is more for part by part flushing/cleaning. Sometimes when the compressor damage. It produce alot of aluminium dust when mix with the oil. It become silver colour oil. If this happen the whole system is corrupted. Some time owner want to save and dun want replace whole set.

So WS will use a similar device to flush and clean each part.

Normally thinner is use instead of water

OK, thanks to all for sharing the feedback regarding air con flushing and change of air con oil.

Anyway, besides the flushing, was also told my air gas drop by 20% and got it top up.

Pressure. Have done both. Pressure is easier once properly setup with correct cap.

personally i feel pumping is better, the vaccum sucking is for initial stage where there might be alot of air in the system, or for cases when there is only 1 guy working on the brake.

if there is another helper helping to pump the brake, its more effective
