Mz5 owners, how was the fuel consumption?

Seems like there are quite a few Mz5 owners here, which is good to know!

Have been driving my dad's Mz5 and the average reading shown is 9.0/100km. However lightfooted you are I doubt it will hit the claimed 6.6l/100km. Did try driving one night with AC off too, the combined reading for this looks nearer to claimed, I guess at 7.5l/100km

This morning i've called Mazda before replace the Head Unit, but surprisingly after the officer confirmed with the technical consultant, I'm not allow to change the head unit, as it will affect the warranty, all parts must be original within warranty period.

then i question to the officer, are you mean that within this 5years, i can't replace or upgrade anything in my car? sounds reticular, since the "original" head-unit is after market HU, why restrict us to change?

what was his reply after your questioning? for me, on the day of the collection, the sales agent told me to go back to tong lee for warranty on HU. i asked him if it is possible to upgrade, he replied yes. i assumed the warranty of the car won't void.

Common sense tells us that HU has nothing got to do with the engine and gearbox warranty. also on most other things.

Hi, must the car be serviced with the AD for the warranty to be valid, even for the first 3 years?

Going to test drive this model with family this Sunday. Stay tune.

Here goes, 2016 CX-5 test drive first impression. Drove the 2.0 standard version.

Exterior - very nice new look. Front grill is the obvious difference. No more honey comb grill.

Interior - The standard one not much to shout about. The premium specs has a more plush interior. Very comfy. Good spacing & legroom for driver.

As for the rest of the gadgets, its pretty much the same as with the new M3 & M6. What was wow factor for me is the Electric Park Brake.

Passengers comments also positive. Ample headroom & generous legroom.

Drive - very responsive engine though the steering is not as hard as previous Mazda models. Overtaking cars, the CX--5 was zippy enough for me. Running block off at the traffic lights was fast. A thumbs up good test for me.

Another plus point, which was evident, the engine noise was not so audible. Inside cabin was quiet enough but not totally eliminating the engine sound. Did a couple of hard turns at the roundabout at old airport road, (road leading to paya lebar airbase) the CX-5 handled it well. Body roll was minimal though its quite a tall car.

Overall im pretty pleased with the CX5. The adequate boot space just about concludes my curiosity.

As for the price, (currently at $163,888 premium model, haven't deduct their celebratory promo & whatsnot) Im going to wait for their new promo when the CEVS rebate is not in the equation.

What I cant seem to find is THE Mazda AD who can give me a $6K overtrade for my old wheels. His last offer was for $5K. Anyone can help?

Now I am worried.. Coming from a soon to be scrapped Toyota owner, the parts are plentiful and repair is easy...

But mazda parts seem to be hard to secure...

It should be more expensive than the normal car workshop. Anybody has experience paying for servicing in Eurokars? mine is free for 3 years.
