  1. Ford built this concept demonstrator at the request of several police departments. source: https://www.motor1.com/news/532111/ford-mustang-mache-police-concept/ Municipalities around the world are showing interest in electric vehicles for a variety of purposes. With more interior room, significantly lower maintenance costs, and zero-emission operation, they fit with the future narrative playing out in major cities. Police departments are no exception, and several locations in the UK are interested in seeing how the Ford Mustang Mach-E could work as a full-fledged patrol car. That interest led Ford to develop a Mach-E concept specifically for police departments across the pond. This one-off creation will be evaluated by England's Metropolitan Police Force, but several other departments around the UK want a go behind the wheel. Aside from the Day-Glo exterior treatment and the requisite lightbar, the cop-spec Mach-E is fitted with special mounting pods and brackets to help suss out locations for items without causing too much damage to the vehicle. The LED lighting systems also run on a separate battery, so the Mach-E's range is unaffected by its emergency gear. This isn't the first time Ford developed a Mustang specifically for police use. The fox body Mustang notchback served police agencies across the United States through the 1980s and 1990s as the Mustang SSP. Standing for Special Service Package, the pony car received a variety of upgrades for added durability and functionality as an interceptor and yes, they all had Ford's venerable 5.0-liter high-output V8. Some even had a manual transmission. With an electric powertrain, the Mach-E wouldn't require heavy-duty upgrades like stronger hoses and extra coolers for engine oil or transmission fluid. The Mach-E also has considerably more interior space versus the old 5.0, and in GT guise it can reach 60 mph in under four seconds. That would make it tough for the bad guys to escape, provided they don't reach open roads for a long-distance sprint. For now at least, this is just a one-off vehicle for evaluation purposes. But we wouldn't be surprised to see an official Mach-E SSP cop car from Ford in the years to come.
  2. This Mustang-inspired EV will be revealed on 17 November, ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show.
  3. The 1,000-hp 1969 Mustang Mach 1 "Hitman" with John Wick paint job source: https://newatlas.com/automotive/1-000-hp-mustang-mach-1-hitman/ In Oklahoma there's a company called Classic Recreations that restores or reproduces classic muscle cars but with an injection of modern tech. The company's latest effort is called the "Hitman" and it's a glorious 1969 Mustang Mach 1 restomod with a John Wick-inspired paint job. The car's bodywork is an actual Mustang Mach 1 restored to factory-new condition by Classic Recreations. A Ford 32-valve 5.0-liter Coyote V8 32 valve crate engine with a BOSS 302 intake, together producing 1,000 horsepower (746 kW), is then added. Also in the package is a six-speed manual transmission from Tremec, a 9-inch 3.50 ratio rear end with Posi-Traction, and tubular subframe connectors. Engine management systems put power to the ground and a custom 2.5-inch Mandrel stainless steel manifold and exhaust system and Magnaflow mufflers let the growl commence. A custom 18-gallon fuel cell from Rick's Tanks provides the gas. The Hitman Mach 1 has a custom suspension with coilovers in front and Total Control rear coilovers at the back. Front and rear oversized sway bars keep the body and frame under control and a powered rack and pinion steering system adds driver control. Lightweight 18-inch American Racing Wheels are clad with Michelin Pilot Sport 2s in 225/40 up front and 315/30 at the rear, while six-piston Wilwood calipers with slotted and cross-drilled rotors are found behind all four wheels. Brake bias is controlled through an adjustable rear proportioning valve. An aluminum crossflow radiator from BeCool cools the engine and an "Old Air" air conditioning system does the same for the cabin, while a custom-designed JVC head unit and speaker layout with a Kicker amp provides the audio accompaniment. Inside there's also a woodgrain steering wheel, five-point seat harnesses, 200-mph gauges, TMI Mustang interior panels, and a cosmetic rollbar to keep things authentic. The Mustang Mach 1 Hitman is painted in two-tone "Hitman" gray and black with a factory style, period-correct chin spoiler and rear decklid spoiler. Mach 1 badges also feature. The Mach 1 Hitman shown here was custom-built to owner specifications and is the first Mach 1 to be built by Classic Restorations under official license from Ford. The company can customize and build to order another, if you have the (unspecified amount of) cash required.
  4. Gaming Can’t Guarantee You A Future? 27-Year-Old M’sian Esports Gamer Just Bought A Ford Mustang source: https://www.worldofbuzz.com/gaming-cant-guarantee-you-a-future-27-year-old-msian-esports-gamer-just-bought-a-ford-mustang/ All of us grew up getting yelled at for playing games because our typical Asian parents think that playing games will affect our studies, and ultimately, our future. But we are no longer strangers when it comes to Esports in recent years because more people are becoming professional gamers and they earn real money too! Our parents will not believe this! A Malaysian Esports gamer Faris, also known as Soloz, had been participating in various mobile gaming competitions, on top of streaming his PUBG and Mobile Legends gameplays online. While many didn’t think that “playing games” can also be one’s career, Soloz, also known as Faris Zakaria, proved that his efforts in Esports could earn a lot as well. Most of us had missed out on a Malaysian Esports Team, Team Bosskurr participation in the SEA Games 2019 in the Philippines. They won Bronze in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang category and Faris was a member of Team Bosskurr. This is an extremely amazing achievement and they definitely made Malaysia proud. A story went viral on social media a few days ago, when Soloz shared that he had purchased a Ford Mustang from a car showroom in Bangsar on 4 February. Often being praised for being down-to-earth, Faris visited the car showroom in a pair of slippers to view a red Ford Mustang GT500 on 28 January. And just one week later, he returned to the showroom to purchase the beauty with his hard-earned money for being an Esports athlete. The 27-year-old gamer uploaded these photos onto his Instagram account (@solozsoloz) to celebrate his achievement, further proving that he had come a long way. People often misunderstand gamers, thinking that gaming is easy and “it’s just a game”. Little did they know, that professional gamers train really hard to qualify and participate in competitions and actual trainers or coaches are hired to train them as well. So, tell your parents that playing games isn’t “useless”, but it can be a profession if you set your heart to it!
  5. Not so cool on the look of the real profile though... Still I hope it will come to our shores http://jalopnik.com/the-2015-ford-mustang-is-the-most-advanced-muscle-car-e-1476612775
  6. A Tennessee-based Ford dealership specializing in Roush-tuned Mustangs has developed a real corker to celebrate this year's 50th anniversary of when a GT40 in Gulf Oil livery won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. That was back in 1969, though the same car, also wearing the Gulf Oil livery, was also a winner at the 1968 24 Hours of Le Mans. The special Mustang honoring those wins has been developed by Brown Lee Ford of Nashville, Tennessee. It's called the Brown Lee Performance Gulf Heritage Mustang, and just 119 examples will be built, each priced from $139,995. That's a steep price to pay for a Mustang, especially with the Shelby GT500 offering up 760 horsepower for just $73,995. Well, Brown Lee Ford's Mustang goes further with an output of 808 horsepower and 677 pound-feet of torque generated by its 5.0-liter supercharged V-8. Paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or 10-speed automatic, the engine will rocket the car from 0-60 mph in as low as 3.3 seconds and past the quarter-mile in under 10.7 seconds. Beyond the supercharger, the Brown Lee Ford team upgraded the fuel injectors and added high-flow intake and exhaust systems, as well as intercooler. There's also track-tuned suspension, carbon fiber aero elements including a wicker bill spoiler, a few unique interior appointments, and of course the famous Gulf Oil livery. And for a bit of peace of mind, the car even comes with a 3-year/36,000 mile limited warranty. “We are incredibly proud to have this opportunity to honor the Ford and Gulf racing legacy in such a special build,” said Brock Patterson, Brown Lee Ford's global specialty vehicle manager. “With over 800 horsepower carrying this licensed icon from 0-60 mph in under 3.5 seconds, the Gulf Heritage Edition Mustang pays homage to the accomplishments of the Ford and Gulf racing teams from 50 years ago, on all levels.” The Brown Lee Performance Gulf Heritage Mustang will be presented on August 18 at the 2019 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The event caps Monterey Car Week which is currently under way. For our complete coverage on the event, head to our dedicated hub.
  7. The latest and greatest rumor about the Ford Mustang speculates that the iconic pony car could soon gain a four-door-sedan variant. Ford shared vague plans for this new model at a dealer event last month. Although it's still entirely unsubstantiated by Ford at this point, this idea might not be quite as wild as it might seem. The thinking is that a longer-wheelbase version of the Mustang with four doors and a fastback-like shape could move upmarket to compete with the likes of the Audi A7 and the Porsche Panamera. While this sounds more like Lincoln territory, the Mustang brand might be strong enough on its own to support such premium aspirations—current versions already range well into the $50,000 to $60,000 range. The forum post states that a turbocharged V-8 engine will be offered, although we're not sure which engine that might be, given that no such configuration currently exists within the Ford lineup. A turbo version of the current Mustang's 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 is possible, but we haven't heard any rumblings about that otherwise. If such a vehicle were to come to fruition, the forum speculates, it would be distinct from a new Ford crossover, previously referred to as the Mach 1 but now expected to carry a different name, that's said to be inspired by the Mustang. That new model will be all electric and will have a taller profile. Other future additions to the Mustang lineup include a hybrid version for sometime in the near future and the high-performance GT500, which is expected to make its debut within the next few months. Ford spokesperson Jiyan Cadiz did not confirm or deny the rumor, but did say that "we are always on our game to keep Mustang exciting every year," which seems to stoke the fire. We'll update this story when we have more information to share.
  8. With 113,066 units of the Mustang sold in 2018, Ford's coupe gets to keep its World’s Best-Selling Sports Coupe title for the fourth straight year. Ford announced the news on the eve of its 55th anniversary that sales in Europe went up by more than 27% so far in 2019 and its market share increased by half a point for 2018 over the previous year, reaching 15.4%. Thanks to the new Bullitt variant, 75,842 units were sold in the U.S. while 2,323 Mustangs found homes in the U.K., representing an increase of 5% over 2017. According to Ford, the Mustang was sold in 146 countries in 2018 and over 500,000 sixth-generation models have been sold globally since 2015. “We broke the mould when Ford launched the Mustang 55 years ago,” said Jim Farley, Ford president of global markets. “Nothing says freedom, the wind in your hair and the joy of driving like Mustang; it’s an icon. The roar of its V8 on a spring day, there’s nothing better. No wonder it’s the most popular sports coupe in the world.”

  10. Roush is readying its most powerful Mustang offering to date. Starting Saturday, Sept. 1, customers can pre-order the 2019 Roush Stage 3 Mustang, complete with 710 horsepower and 610 pound-feet of torque. The RS3 Mustang utilizes a new "Phase 1" TVS R2650 supercharger, which is based on Eaton's R2650 rotating assembly and improved with a new front inlet. Compared to the previous, 2015-introduced car and its R2300 blower, the Mustang can coax an extra 40 horsepower from its 5.0-liter Coyote engine thanks to the improved supercharger. Just as a reminder, a stock Mustang GT has 460 horsepower; the Stage 3 gives the car 250 extra ponies. That's about a Focus ST's worth. The Roush RS3 setup also includes suspension improvements such as new performance coilovers, and the car can also be specified with three-way adjustable ones. Combine with new 20-inch cast aluminum wheels shod with 275/35R20 tires, and the RS3 reportedly reaches 1.07g on the skidpad. There's the R8 aero kit to help distinguish the RS3 from other souped-up Mustangs, and the car also gets a sport interior package. Roush also offers an optional active exhaust package, which can be adjusted via smartphone or tablet app. On top of the price of a stock 5.0-liter Mustang, the RS3 package will start from USD$22,925, and it'll be backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. The official launch date is Oct. 10, but pre-orders start Sept. 1. Sadly, it is unlikely that this package will make it to our shores.
  11. This 1967 Shelby GT500 Super Snake has nearly doubled its previous record as the most expensive Mustang ever sold at auction Having previously been sold for a record breaking US$1.3 million(around S$1.7m), this one-of-one 1967 Shelby GT500 Super Snake recently changed hands once again at the Mecum Kissimmee auction in Florida. Predicted to reach an already eye watering $1.0-$1.2 million, the muscle car managed to smash its own record by reaching US$2.2 million(around S$2.7m). The Shelby GT500 Super Snake is a concept car derived from the regular 1967 GT500 Mustang. However, as the standard 355bhp was obviously insufficient, the Super Snake was upgraded to a Shelby ‘427’ engine which is a very similar powerplant to that found in the 1966 Le Mans winning Ford GT40 Mk II. It includes the same “bundle of snakes” exhaust system as the champion GT40 and a power figure of 600bhp. In addition, the Super Snake features stiffer shocks and springs along with performance focused braided brake lines and a remote oil filler. The Le Mans striping and chrome headlight surrounds visually set the car apart from its less extreme GT500 counterpart. Special whitewall Goodyear Thunderbolt tyres were fitted to the Super Snake as part of a promotional tyre test which originally brought the car to fruition. In fact, the project was the idea of Shelby’s American Sales Manager Don McCain after Carroll Shelby was asked to do a promotion with Goodyear. The aim of the event was to test the endurance of Goodyear’s new “Thunderbolt” economy tyres by driving at a constant 140mph for 500 miles. Built to run sustainably at 6,000rpm for racing, the ‘427’ engine was perfect for the job. Despite the huge power figure of the Super Snake, the test was a success as the tyres came back with over 97% of their original tread, achieving the goal of the event. It’s said that at the same event, Carroll Shelby reached 170mph during a top speed run whilst using the Super Snake. Don McCain’s original plan was to sell 50 Super Snakes. However, the concept never hit the road due to the excessive price. In fact, if put on the market each car would have had to be sold at twice the price of a regular GT500. Although the Shelby EXP 500 “Green Hornet” from 1968 reached a hefty US$1.8 million when up for auction in 2013, that was not enough to reach the reserve price of the car and it remained unsold. Therefore, this Super Snake gets the title of “The World’s Most Expensive Mustang” for a while longer. It is well over twice the price of the second priciest pony.
  12. Classic Recreations recently secured a license from Ford to bring back some of the automaker's most cherished Mustangs. We're talking the 1960s-era Boss 302 and 429, as well as the Mach 1. The Yukon, Oklahoma-based company has since unveiled the first of the modern recreations, stunning audiences at last week's 2018 SEMA show in Las Vegas where the car debuted. The presented car was a turnkey 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a model CR says it has exclusive rights to build. For the debut, CR went with a beastly black design complemented with a modern wheel pattern and even LED accent lighting. CR can either use an original Mustang body from the 1969 or 1970 model years, or a licensed modern example supplied by firms like Dynacorn. The cars are built to the customer's specification and normally come with modern chassis and powertrain technologies, ensuring they run and more importantly stop like modern machines. In the case of its SEMA show car, CR dropped in a 429 V-8 with a stroker kit boosting displacement to 514 cubic inches, or 8.4 liters. The massive engine generates an estimated 815 horsepower and features a Centerforce DYAD performance clutch and flywheel, along with an updated valvetrain and modern fuel injection and engine management systems. The average CR build takes approximately four months (nearly 2,500 man hours) to complete, with all of the work, from metal fabrication to body work, paint and assembly, taking place in-house. Naturally, the price of a CR build isn't cheap. For a Boss 429 you're looking at $209,000 to start. “The Boss 429 is one of the coolest and rarest Mustangs ever produced, but they have gotten so valuable that most owners won’t drive them,” said CR owner Jason Engel. “This offers people the chance to own an incredibly rare car that they can actually drive, and with modern chassis and engine tech these cars will actually be faster and easier to drive than the original.” CR has made a name for itself over the years with its Shelby Mustang recreations. There was even a version of the ficticious Eleanor from 2000's “Gone In 60 Seconds.” Recently, the company also started offering recreated versions of the original Chevrolet Camaro.
  13. Hi guys, let's compare the old and the new...... Ford Mustang GT concept It

  15. Launched a couple of days ago at the North American International Auto Show, Ford Shelby's GT500 is the fastest street-legal Mustang ever. Ford did not reveal all the facts about the car but some very important numbers were given. With a very large supercharger bolted onto its 5.2-liter V8 that is shared with the GT350, the engine is said to produce more than 700bhp. This allows the car to hit 100km/h from a stop in mid-three seconds and a quarter mile score of under 11 seconds. Paired to a Tremec seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, power is sent to the rear via a carbon fibre driveshaft and comes with a few modes including normal, sport, drag and track. Party pieces like line-lock and launch control are also present. Handling wise, the car gets new suspension geometry, lighter coil springs, next-gen MagneRide dampers and a new electronic power steering unit. Six-pot Brembo calipers combined with massive 420mm two-piece rotors up front make sure the car has ample stopping power too. Two handling packs are available. The less aggressive one includes adjustable strut top mounts and a spoiler with Gurney flap while the all-out Carbon Fiber Track Package includes 20-inch carbon wheels that are half-an-inch wider at the back, custom Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber, an adjustable GT4 wing and no rear seat. Inside, the usual suede and carbon fibre touches spice up the cabin while a set of Recaro racing seats is optional.
  16. Think you know a lot about the Ford Mustang? Watch the video and see if you know the answers to all these questions! Here's a light-hearted short clip that is hosted by Janis Baumanis, a Latvian racing driver currently participating in the World Rallycross Championship. In the video, which is part of Robywork's YouTube channel 'Quiz time' series, Baumanis answers some questions that the producers gave him about the Ford Mustang. We shan't spoil it for by describing the video's content here but if you have some time to kill, this is a good clip to keep you entertained. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Dg_JKkiILA
  17. The guys at Mustag6G, a Ford Mustang forum, has spotted the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 on the list of the new car launches for the Chicago Auto Show. However, the model was removed from the list shortly and it is believed to be a "mistake". Will the car be launched on 10th of February remains to be seen... Meanwhile, the car is expected to be powered by a 5.2-litre supercharged V8 that is based on the same powerplant that drives the GT350 and GT350R shown in the photo above. With over 700bhp, the GT500 will be rivaling the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Top speed is rumored to past 320km/h. Interestingly, Mustang6G points out that the guys who are now known as Ford Performance, has a long history of Chicago show debuts. Cars that were launched there include the Mustang SVT Cobra and F-150 SVT Lightning from the 90s.
  18. Muscle car fans, here's the battle you would love to watch. The new Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 fights Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R. Which is better? Motor Trend takes both cars out with the ZL1 having way more power than the GT350R thanks to its supercharged LT4 V8 that pumps out 650hp, 124bhp more than the Mustang, making the Ford look like it is fighting a losing battle. That said, sports car fans will argue that the Mustang's naturally aspirated flat-plane V8 is the way to go with its better response and engine noise. Watch the video below and see which car wins this muscle car battle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMNifBdm_o4
  19. Want a Mustang? Wait, because the much-upgraded 2018 ‘Stang is set to go on sale by around next year – and we reckon it’s going to be worth waiting for. Why? Because it’s got more power. Ford’s European arm “anticipates” 444bhp or thereabouts (up from 410) from the revised 5.0-litre N/A V8, which gets a clever new fuel injection system for a higher rev-limit and more low-end torque. Curiously the 2.3-litre four-cylinder Mustang has less power than it did pre-facelift – just 286bhp, down from 313. Ford tells us this is because the EcoBoost ‘Stang has “Gas Particulate Filter (GPF) technology”, which helps with emissions but increases back pressure in the exhaust, and reduces “the steady state horsepower of the engine”. Thanks to more torque and a “transient overboost function”, Ford says the new EcoBoost ‘Stang is no slower than the old car, despite the power deficit. In fact, Ford says it’s even quicker if you go for the new ten-speed automatic transmission (which is also available on the V8). No performance data has been released for either engine. More power isn’t the only reason you should wait for the new ‘Stang. There’s the optional “MagneRide” adaptive dampers (which complements recalibrated shock absorbers, stiffened rear suspension with a cross-axis joint and thicker anti-roll bars), the active exhaust with “Good Neighbour” mode for socially-acceptable early-morning getaways and the special “Drag Strip” mode. The new looks are backed-up by a higher-quality interior, with a 12in LCD in place of the dials, SYNC3 infotainment (with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto) and higher quality materials. Pre-collision and pedestrian detection systems are part of a new suit of driver assistance tech’ available on the new ‘Stang, which also gets adaptive cruise and lane-keeping aids.
  20. Lennart Ribring at the age of 97-year old, has just bought a brand new Ford Mustang V8 in Sweden. He is likely to be the oldest owner of the new Mustang. Back in the 1960s, Lennart was one of the first people in Sweden to buy an original Ford Mustang and 50 years later, he buys himself a brand new one with the 5.0 V8 engine. The retired businessman who still works part-time as an accountant, taught his son, Michael, how to drive in their previous Mustang. According to his son, his father is still fit to drive, despite his age. “His eyesight is good, his reactions are good and he drives with confidence that others don’t have,” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xe69Az-sIQE
  21. Hey everyone, So I’m new to the forum and was wondering what builds you all could suggest to go up against (but hopefully crush) the new 2018 gt and ss 1le. The Chevy runs 4.1 to the fords 4.4 0-60 and both run mid 12 second quarter mile times. I understand both cars are around 50k usd but I’m looking to spend around 40-45k usd. I was looking at maybe importing the gt-r bnr 32 but with costs up to 35k usd that eats up most of the swap/mod budget. I’m looking for something that’s obviously street legal, most importantly reliable, and something I’m not going to have to spend half of a year looking for a specific model/year so something easy to to find with abundant aftermarket support. Thanks!

  23. While the sixth-generation Ford Mustang just arrived not to long ago on our shores, news that Ford is working on a facelift has surfaced. For those in the know, the current Mustang has been on sale since 2013 and is about time it gets a little refreshing. Set to get the usual exterior tweaks that will include an updated grille, different lighting units on both ends and modified front and rear bumpers, the car will be getting a 10-speed automatic gearbox. The new gearbox is expected to be pair with both the 2.3-litre Ecoboost and 5.0-litre V8 engines and should be ready for sale sometime around 2018. With that said, it is not known whether the rest of the world other than America will be getting the updated gearbox.
  24. Known as the former Stig of Top Gear, Ben Collins, a famous stunt driver, claims that the Ford's Mustang is the best car for stunt driving. The new Ford Mustang was featured in his latest latest DVD release and was able to beat other performance and competition models such as McLaren's 650s, Aston Martin's Vanquish, Ariel's Nomad and Jaguar's F-Type in a series of high speed challenges. According to Collins, "the point of this adventure was to find the perfect car for an epic, Hollywood-style car chase, and it’s the iconic Ford Mustang that gets top billing". Judging from the fact that he has participated handling the stunt driving in many popular films, including James Bond’s “Skyfall” and “Spectre” as well as “The Dark Knight Rises” and “Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation”, we won't be doubting him anytime soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMCUNYBt6x0
  25. What's not to like. A manual Ford Mustang with a high-revving 526bhp naturally aspirated V8 built for the track. Motor Trend's Ignition channel reviews the new 2016 Mustang Shelby GT350. Not your usual Mustang that makes its power down low, this new flat-plane(the video explains what it means) 5.2-litre engine in the GT350 revs to 8,200rpm. And it sounds really lovely when doing that. According to the reviewers who tried the car on the roads and on the track, the car is so balanced and sweet that it can take on its rivals without any worries. Sadly, you will almost not get to see one here on the road because the GT350 will not be available in right hand drive. Which isn't so bad afterall for me because I would have traded in one or two of my organs for this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbbNlkP-ZSM
