When I brake lightly at speeds over 80kph, I feel quite bad vibrations coming from the front wheel. If I release the brake pedal and tap on it again, then the vibrations sort of diminish and disappear when my car slows down to below 60kph. I was told by my service mechanic that my car's front rotors are "polarised" (not sure what that means...and changing the front pair would cost S$180. Is that the real cause of the vibrations? I was also told in another forum that I could just flip the rotors so I dun need to change them. True? I plan to have this fixed soon cos brakes cannot play play one... I also encounter squealing sounds when moving off in 1st gear and especially when reversing. I've sprayed belt dressing on all the rotating parts and the belts but the problem is still there. While moving, there's also some grinding noise coming from the drive shaft I think...somewhere from the bottom of the car or gearbox. Any idea what ARE wrong?? Any workshops to recommend to have these problems fixed cos it's the first time I own a car. I'm driving a Suzuki Swift. BTW, hope it's near Woodlands cos I stay there

Dear All, I would be expecting the delivery of my new car soon and would like to ask the Bros here for their recommendation for light-weight sports rims as my car, Hyundai Sonata's kerb weight is on the heavy side . Hopefully by reducing the unstrung weight, I would be able to increase the fuel economy. Basically, I have 2 options now... Either to request the SE to change to sports rims before taking delivery of the car or to drive the car straight to the workshop to change the sports rims. Therefore, now I would need to decide on the rims first before deciding which options is cheaper or more convenient loh.... My stock tires are Kumho 769 POWERMAX with the following specs : P205/65R15. Since there are so many choices around, I have short-listed 2 of my fav designs (attached below), ROH Blade and OZ Vela, but I am not sure they are light-weight a not? Hopefully there are other brands out there with similar design & light-weight too...

Whether you call it dim light (TB's term), parking lights (American term), or position lamp (my Jap car manual's term), it is that first notch in your headlight operation. I use it in light rain, and around 7pm when the sun is starting to set. Now, this light bulb is super dim @ 12V 4W!! My (maglite-class) touchlight is brighter and it runs only on dual AA-size batteries!! Question is, where can I find (branded?) super bright (white preferred) replacement? (Autobacs has some unknown brand replacement but I'm not sure if it's bright (enough ..))

Saw some LED bulbs that can fit the parking light (dim light in the headlamp housing). They are suppose to be really bright yet consuming less than 5W and operates cooler. Not cheap at RM40 a pair

I'm using the Philips Vision Plus H7 headlamps and so far here's my review: Pros: - much brighter! (50% according to philips) - still yellow light (don't wanna attract attention) - wider spread Cons: - Price a little more compared to OE replacement. Guys, any other brands to comment on?

I received a letter from LTA instructing me to present my car for inspection at Sin Ming Drive. Reason: A report has been filed against my car for having windscreen washers with blue light. Took out the wiring yesterday. Drove all the way to Sin Ming and showed them my car this afternoon. Satisfied them there's no blue light. They let me go. Bloody hell... wasted $45 installing the blue lights.... The inspector told me the blue lights are illegal as they would distract other drivers. Another example of ridiculous LTA rules. Sigh.......

Find that the steering wheel becomes very light (something like no feedback) when travelling at 100km/h. What can be done to improve on this? Me driving a AE111 (M) with aspec db and sports rims, hope this info helps.
