    Vibrations

Guys, I'm getting a lot of vibrations when stationary and brake depressed. Idling very irregular. Engine mounting problem? If yes, not covered under warranty right?
  3. when i drive my current ride....i can feel the significant road vibrations in the car when i am at the driver's seat. i had changed the tyres, shock absorbers and engine mountings recently. yet these vibrations are still felt in the driver's seat. in the other seats, its not so obvious. i had put the gearbox in neutral while the car is moving, and the vibrations are still transmitted to the driver's seat, so its not a gearbox or gearbox mounting problem. i had not felt this in my previous cars before...and i've sat in friends' cars of the same make and model, and they do not have this problem. anybody know what is the cause of this? bushings? wheel bearing?
  4. guys, I recently encounter problems with my 5yr old car. when i turn the steering wheel while car is stationery., i feel vibrations / juddering on the whole car. not just the steering wheel. engine RPM is holding on stable. is there something wrong? thank you
  5. Hi all.. Need some feedback and advice for my ride.. It's registered in june 2007.. bought from C&C.. Since day 1, the engine has been vibratibg violently at idling rpmwhen the alternator cuts power,, sometimes to the extent of almoststalling Feedback to C&C and they keep adjusting the rpm which doesn't cure the problem Recently, they changed my throttle body as an improved version of the throttle came in from Japan. The vibrations were reduced but once in a while the vibrations can be quite strong but not as bad as before. One thing to note is my car's aircon is weak, not that cold on a sunny afternoon. I do know that Lancer's aircon is not that powerful but my passengers keep complaining it's weak. Is there anything i can do to further reduce the vibrations when at idling? C&C has checked and found the engine mountings and alternator to be ok and diagnosed the problem as a manufacturing defect. They claim other owners face the same issue. Thanks
  6. Anyone know wads e cause of the above? Installed new clutch but after that can feel vibrations at a certain point of the free play. Vibrations cfm coming from engine. Mech insist is engine mounting. However, i dun feel much vibrations during idle.
  7. Hello, just checking if your cars have any slight rattle or vibration sounds especially in the roof areas? I do once once i hit 60KM/H + or when I go over very bumpy roads. My made in Jap car is only 3 months old and there's already this problem (not as bad as those old cars tho), would the sales agent cover this under warenty or must I go and sound proof my car?
  8. When I brake lightly at speeds over 80kph, I feel quite bad vibrations coming from the front wheel. If I release the brake pedal and tap on it again, then the vibrations sort of diminish and disappear when my car slows down to below 60kph. I was told by my service mechanic that my car's front rotors are "polarised" (not sure what that means...and changing the front pair would cost S$180. Is that the real cause of the vibrations? I was also told in another forum that I could just flip the rotors so I dun need to change them. True? I plan to have this fixed soon cos brakes cannot play play one... I also encounter squealing sounds when moving off in 1st gear and especially when reversing. I've sprayed belt dressing on all the rotating parts and the belts but the problem is still there. While moving, there's also some grinding noise coming from the drive shaft I think...somewhere from the bottom of the car or gearbox. Any idea what ARE wrong?? Any workshops to recommend to have these problems fixed cos it's the first time I own a car. I'm driving a Suzuki Swift. BTW, hope it's near Woodlands cos I stay there
  9. Hi, I just bought a fren's wheels(n tires). However, there are some vibrations at low speed. The vibrations are characterised by a wobbly feel of the car at low speed (10-20km/h), kinda like a bit bumpy, but not so obvious at cruising or high speeds. Can any gurus or car freaks provide some insight as to what I should do to remedy the situation? I have gone for high speed balancing at Stamford and the wheels are also balanced. Thanks,
