  1. Hi All, I'm having this problem for some time as in while travelling in gear, when I lift my foot off the accelerator, there is this whining noise and its seems to be from the auto tramsmission gearbox....some kind of sharp engine brake noise, very annoying. Car is 6 yrs old. Once I just step on accerelator slightly to keep car going, the sound disappears. I lift off pedal, sound comes back immed. I know its not wheel bearings or belts (both air-con and alternator belts hv been replaced). Hope that some forumers can help feedback what is the cause?
  2. Dear all, Self explanatory, dad complains when he cannot get free upgrades for his child from economy class to business class... http://singapore.coconuts.co/2016/11/30/cheapskate-dad-complains-sia-about-son-economy-class-not-being-able-sit-mum-business

  5. Dear all, I complained about the erection of new ERP gantries, especially the news that ERP charging will be implemented in the heartlands. I agree that gahmen are just leeching us dry and that they treat us as money pots. but if one day, you were to stand in front of the transport minister raymond lim and challenged him with ur idea... what will it be? 1) most will say reduce the number of COEs aka bring back the old system... His probable reply: Car ownership will then be for the rich who can afford mighty high COE. 2) Some will say improve the public transport and make it more affordable etc. His probable reply: We aready have a world class public transport sys and should be given time to fine tune it, and gahmen should not interfere with the profitability of transport companies in this competitive and ever changing economy blah blah. So what's ur solution to this congestion problem? Please share. THanks! =)
  6. Hi, my ride suffers from this irritating whining sound from the air con compressor. I have narrowed down to the compressor becos the sound does not exist when the air con is off or when the compressor is cut-off. Anyway to remove this noise? Would Buddy club additive treatment help? or grounding of the compressor? changing of fan belts? Anyone with similar experience?
  7. I've just had my headunit changed and I am running an extremely simple system. No amp. Just headunit to speakers. So RCA connectors is eliminated out of the equation. After changing the headunit, I experience the famous alternator whine ONLY when headlight (main) is switched on !!! I've tried to seperate the speaker cables from the main bunch of power/ground cables with no help. Placing 2 x ferrite chokes on the cables didn't help too. BTW, I am using the original ground cable in the bunch of cables. Some website suggested running the ground cable from the headunit to the chasis. But the bolt in the bracket at the back of the dash (where the HU fitted) doesn't move after much try. So, assuming that the ground cable is not the cause, what can I do to remove the whining noise ? BTW, it's very very soft and non protruding .. but just that I want to remove it.
  8. Hi all, There's this annoying high-pitched sound coming from my ride...let's try and pinpoint this one! 3 weeks ago I had my timing, PS, alternator, fan belts all replaced. The water pump wasn't replaced then. Days later, a continuous 'wheeee' sound was heard each time the car idled, and only after the engine had become hot. The sound would disappear when the throttle was pressed. The old water pump was found to be the culprit, as turning it by hand made this 'squeak, squeak sound'. My mech and I figured at higher pulley speeds it would have caused the continuous whining sound. So we had the pump replaced. The problem went away for a week, but I did notice that switching off the car produced this 'beep' sound from the engine. I guessed it was the sound coming from the pump (new one) again... Just yesterday, the same idle whining has started again! Any clues?
