  1. This thread is for sharing of car model not available in Singapore. It is not necessary that the car must be something exotic, very rare or for that matter, cost you an arm and leg (well, every car here cost us an arm and leg already...) I still remembered in the early 90s (during the pre-internet era), when I made my first overseas trip to Europe, I was like a mountain tortoise, staring at every car model on the street, and spending half of my photo films shooting nothing but just "rare" cars that I have never seen in Singapore, hahaha OK, let me start the ball rolling, and these few are high on my list (and many more to come)... BMW X1 LWB. I am a sucker for LWB model, as the additional leg room in the rear make the car feel a class high than standard wheelbase model. BMW 5 Series LWB. Who will need a 7 Series if we can have this model... 3rd Generation Honda Accord (JDM). I am also a fan of pop up headlight... Honda Odyssey (USDM). This make it a very good competitor to the Alphard and like... Kia Grand Carnival. Another great looking full size MPV... 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir. A direct competitor to the highly acclaimed Mazda CX9...

    Baby Maybach

I have a hard time deciding the title for this thread, as there are many things to write about this new Mercedes-Benz model, and I actually wish it could be made available in Singapore, but I know it is mission impossible for now, since it is only available in LHD format (so PI route is out too). Now let take a quick glimpse at this model I am talking about. Does it not reassembled the larger Mercedes-Maybach S-Class (X222), especially the quart window at the C-pillar? So what is this unique model that got me so excited? Well it is the... ... Mercedes-Benz E-Class Long Wheel Base (V213), exclusive to the China market. Anyone grab the variant shown in the above photos? It is the E350L. Now that is another talking point... Under the hood, there’s an assortment of engines, and thus the choice of model variant, which shall be very different from our past understanding of Mercedes nomenclature. Starting with the entry level E280L (notice I use 'entry level'), it use the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with mild hybrid found in the CLS260, which produces 184ps (135KW) and 280Nm of torque. It enables the E280L to accelerate from 0 - 100km/h in 8.7 seconds (9.0 seconds for all-wheel drive). Up next, the E300L, which has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine pumping out 258ps (190KW) and 370Nm of torque. This variant come standard with all-wheel drive setup, and the dash to 100km/h is reduce significantly 6.6 seconds. Finally, the top of the range E350L 4MATIC (sound / look sibeh atas right), uses an upgraded 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (instead of a 3.0L V6) which now produces 299ps (220KW) and 400Nm of torque. It allow a century sprint timing of 6.1 seconds.
  3. It seems like long wheelbase variants are turning into a popular trend in China. Well, at least for the segment in which the 3-Series competes there, BMW feels the need to offer a long-wheelbase variant to go up against the successful Audi A4L - the extended wheelbase version of the A4 model. BMW will be building the stretched variant of the 3-Series at a new plant in the Shengyang economic zone with its Chinese partner Brilliance Auto. The plant, scheduled to be built in 2012, will also be used to manufacture the X1, according to Brilliance chairman Qi Yu Min. Brilliance is also keen to set up a production plant to build MINI models in China too. The new plant will give BMW/Brilliance a capacity of 300,000 units per year with most of the parts sourced locally (60 percent). BMW/Brilliance hope to increase sales in China to 120,000 units annually by 2012, meaning that the additional capacity may well be used to export vehicles to markets outside of the country. Hence, don
