Can 起死回生 hor! Maybe LTA should stop patching potholes around hospitals and even Mandai, to save a few lives! Hahahaha But frankly, potholes on India's road are of a different level from ours. Woman declared brain dead in India comes back to life after ambulance hits pothole Source: https://mustsharenews.com/brain-dead-back-to-life/ A woman in India who was believed to be “brain dead” shocked her family after she reportedly came back to life while being taken home for her last rites, thanks to a pothole. The incident happened in Uttar Pradesh, India, involving Vineeta Shukla, who collapsed at home on 22 Feb. She was first taken to a district hospital before being transferred to a private facility in Bareilly for treatment. According to her family, doctors said her condition was critical and that she showed no signs of movement or response. Relatives were reportedly told there was almost “no hope of survival”. The family then decided to bring her home on 24 Feb to prepare for her final rites. However, while the ambulance was travelling along the Bareilly–Haridwar highway, the vehicle allegedly hit a pothole. Her husband, Kuldeep Kumar Shukla, said this jolted the ambulance and miraculously brought his wife back to life. She began breathing again, and he immediately called the family to cancel the funeral arrangements. The ambulance rushed her to Neurocity Hospital instead. According to NDTV, she has since recovered and will be discharged after nearly two weeks in hospital. The story quickly went viral online, with many claiming that the pothole had somehow “brought a brain-dead woman back to life”. However, neurologists say that interpretation is highly unlikely. According to experts, brain death means the complete and irreversible loss of all brain and brainstem functions, including the ability to breathe. Sudhir Kumar, a neurologist at Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad, said that once brain death is medically confirmed, recovery is impossible. “If a patient later begins breathing or shows neurological recovery, it means they were never brain dead to begin with,” Dr Kumar explained. Doctors believe the Pilibhit case may instead have involved a reversible condition that can mimic brain death. These include drug overdose, severe metabolic imbalance, hypothermia, shock or neurotoxic poisoning. The treating doctor in Pilibhit reportedly suspected a snake bite, which can cause temporary paralysis and suppress breathing. Some experts have also suggested the ambulance jolt may have coincided with the patient’s natural recovery. Another neurologist, J S Deol, suggested the jolt could theoretically have relieved pressure on the brainstem’s breathing centre, though this remains speculative.

TL:DR – A BMW 2 Series convertible goes over a small, unassuming pothole/manhole that causes its rear end to flip up, lose some parts from its undercarriage and swerve into another lane. It's incredible how a small pothole/manhole can cause thousands of dollar's worth of damage to a car. Here's an example recorded on a video forwarded many times on WhatsApp groups. From the footage, we know that this incident happened on 11th April 2021, Sunday around 5pm. As to where this is, I have a feeling it might be somewhere around Woodlands. But, if you have any idea, do let me know, and I'll update the article accordingly to warn fellow road users where to avoid. Update: Thank you everyone who identified the location. It's in Yishun. Poor BMW If you hit the pause button upon the point of impact, you'll notice that bits and pieces fall out from the undercarriage of the 2 Series. That’s as unlucky as this guy I reckon those parts are not going to be cheap to replace or repair. The pothole/manhole This image circulated together with the video. I'm assuming the cam car driver got out of the car and snapped a photo of the pothole/manhole.

Ev0lutionz posted a topic in General Car Discussion
For those driving back to SG from JB, careful of the big pothole after the drain cover after the stamping of passport. Almost thought i ran over something and looked back, damn big pothole just after the drain cover. -

The first line of pothole defense is a properly inflated tire. Get a tire gauge and look up the proper tire pressure for your car in the owner's manual or on a sticker in the glove box or on the frame of the driver's side door. To get a true reading, tire pressure should be checked before the car is driven. Rolling down the road heats up the tire and increases the pressure. Don't rely on petrol station tire gauges

After running over a big pothole in JB, the inner side of rims (Enkei dunno what model) front and back (driver side) dented badly. Is is possible to repair? But don't want to compromise safety. Can recommend light weight (FC is a major concern) 14" rim 4X100 PCD. Try to search for previous post but mostly for > 15" rims. Current tyres are 185/65/14 BS G3. Intend to transfer the tyres. Anyway budget for each rim $150++. Any suggestion.
