Hi fellow Bro and Sis, My car was involved in self skidded accident when my car lost control swaying from left and right intensely ,finally heads onto the railing along AYE. Front potion of my car looks CUI but engine is intact. I put up insurance claim and currently waiting for surveyor from CHARTIS to come down workshop to gauge the repair cost . Boss of workshop asked me to consider as insurance side may call it a total loss . My decision to them was to try their best to convince the insurance side to repair which I think scrapping my car is simply ridiculous . I am driving a Lancer Ex 2.0 2008 . Previously another friend of mine who self skidded having the front , back portion totaled , 4 wheels busted and engine flunked out of the car still manage to have the insurance company covered n fully repaired with only excess paid . Which is why I can't take total loss an option for my case . Based on the worse scenario , can anyone share with me their experience and options I can seek ???? Thanks in advance

My Goodyear NCT5 skidded again on wet road today.. my closest encounter to a near accident Feel it's time to change to safer tyres. From the feedback here, shortlisted Bridgestone GR80 and Hankook K415. Current tire size is 175/65/R14, but i would like to change to 185/60/R14 if the rims can fit. Understand GR80 is around $75, K415 is how much? Any others to consider that is within this price range?

Hi guys, My car (Fiat Grande Punto) skidded when negotiating a bend on a rainy day. My left front rim hit the curb at the face with big impact casuing it to be slightly out of shape (wobble when rotating). I had the rim replaced. The steering rod was bent and I got a mechanic to straigten it back. However when I drive above 70Km/h, I could feel vibration coming from the front and could hear wierd low vibrating noise. Anyone knows what is wrong with my car? I am suspecting bent axle or damaged ball joint. Need some help to recommend a good workshop for inspection and repair. Roughly how much will such repair cost? Thanks!

I started a post trying to get real evidence/ first hand experience with skidding on aspec DBs here: http://www.mycarforum.com/forum/Aftermarke...y;so=ASC;mh=-1; Lots of responses, some real experiences but IMHO, not too many to confirm that Aspec DBs are dangerours in the wet. So I thought it would be interesting to widen the question to what other tyres have you skidded on to get a better read. I'll start: Tyre: Continental Sports Contact II Road: HDB Multi-storey carpark - concrete Situation: Everytime without fail when its wet, ABS kicks in even at 20-30kmh speeds.
