OT abit: to the female jogger last night, I beo you cos salute you to have courage to be in the dark lane alone by yourself and you beo me probably wondering why I was there (in my Bermuda + slippers) .............to take this pic lol you U turned back, I quickly siam off...scared kana laped.
  2. The prices for the 3 flavours of long-waited Sony Xperia Tablet Z has just been revealed by HWZ Singapore. And it is very disappointing to say the least. Sony Singapore prices with 7% GST: LTE with 16GB - S$988.00 Wifi with 32GB - S$788.00 Wifi with 16GB - S$688.00 LTE premium over wifi=S$300 or 44% Sony Australia prices: LTE with 16GB - S$826.00 Wifi with 32GB - S$790.00 Wifi with 16GB - S$656.00 LTE premium over wifi=S$170 or 26% Sony UK prices with 20% VAT: LTE with 16GB - S$957.00 Wifi with 32GB - S$861.00 Wifi with 16GB - S$765.00 LTE premium over wifi=S$192 or 25% What does the above tell you? I do not understand why the LTE version here is charged so much more than the wifi version. The LTE chipset use here cost more to make? Or the LTE version here is so much better than the wifi version thus the bigger premium? Or Sony Singapore think we are suckers that we will willingly pay whatever amount they dictate since we are LTE-siao? I have sold off my tablets in anticipation of this tablet but now I am going to give it a miss if the prices indeed hold true. I will gladly get 2 sets of Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 for myself and wife instead. Can somebody who has link with Sony Singapore bring this up with its management that we are not carrot heads? Very disgusted.
  3. I went to do wheel alignment today and somewhat surprised to see that my rear has a camber of 2.5 degrees and front is just 1 degree. No idea why also....... Then....... the alignment is pretty much intact. They adjusted something like 0.4 degrees for right front wheel and 0.45 for rear toe.......Wasted my $80........
  4. Hi people, I drive a 2.3l Cefiro (aound 4 years old 35000km) and I am noticed since yesterday that when I start my car after like 8+ hours of inactivity, the engine sounds very different, much louder wheezing sound. It goes off after 3-5 mins. Thinking of sending it down for checks on monday but just checking here if there is a simple fix that I can do. I have checked the engine oil and it looks ok. anything else I should check? I really don't know anything about cars. thanks for any help
  5. Had a strange encounter tonite, just a short while ago. Was on my way home at about 11pm, after visiting a friend. Driving along Farrer Road heading towards PIE, keeping to lane 2, and being a good boy by keeping to the road speed limit (70kph, and 50kph near the circle line construction area). I stayed away from Lane 1, as at this time there are sure to be drivers who would like to chiong a bit, and thus did not want to block their way. Suddenly, just after the underpass at the Farrer Rd/Holland Road junction, I noticed a car started to tailgate me. Tailgating very, very close - I could not even see the bonnet - only the other guy's windshield. I was wondering "What's wrong with this guy - got so much space on Lane 1, why don't overtake?" I decided not to apply any brake so not to antagonise him, so i just released the accelerator fully - but because the road was sloping down at the point - the speed decrease was very slow. Other cars overtook from the right and left - but not this clown. He continued to stick to my butt like glue. "Quite good brakework," I thought. Then the road started to slope up as we ascended the Adam Road Flyover. I saw my speed decrease 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10.....and still this idiot did not change lanes ... and he slowed down with me. Near the apex of the flyover, my car completely ground to a halt - unable to go forward without acceleration. I pulled handbrake and waited a few seconds. The moron in the Mazda, also halted his car behind mine and did not move. I was like "What the F%$%?!" This was a 70kph road - and here were 2 cars stopped in the middle lane for nothing. I opened the door, and got out, and made an angry questioning gesture whilst mouthing "What?" at the guy. It was a heavy set Chinese guy in a dark Mazda 3 (SJB XXXX). He did not make any move to exit his car. After a few of my gestures - he made a signal to move on with his hand. I was wondering why he did not just change lanes and move on, why did he stop behind my car? - most probably drunk or panicked. He probably never expected the tailgate victim to actually stop the car in the middle of the road! Anyway - I saw many other cars zooming by, and I did not want to be caught in or cause any accidents - so I got back in my car and moved off. This time, I changed lanes to the left and slowed down - and let the fella move on ahead of me. Then I moved back behind him and taped him on my dashboard video cam. Coincidentally he was going my way. PIE, BKE - so I stayed about 50-100m behind him all the way - and I think he must have seen me following him in his rear-view, and was worried - as he kept to the left lanes after that. The last I saw he was headed in direction of Woodlands along BKE, when I exited at the Dairy Farm exit. A somewhat exciting end to a rather boring day. These are the kind of weirdos we meet on the street that make driving in Singapore so interesting! ---------- To the idiot in the Mazda 3 SJBXXXX: I do not know what your intention or plan was with your tail-gating. But my car is much older than yours, and my boot is in need of an overhaul. I could have just tapped brakes and let you buy me a new boot, and hurt your shiny new SJB Mazda. But I didn't. So let this be a lesson to you. Not everyone would be intimidated by your stupid actions, and there are already enough accidents on the road - don't add to the statistics. By the way - I have a video of your car from my dashboard video cam - which also recorded our stop along the Adam Road flyover. Just FYI.
  6. I was using a Performa 4ch 800w amp and there were some buzzing sound from the tweeters while the engine is on. It can be minimised by adjusting the RCA cables, so still bearable. Only slightly audible if you intentionally look out for it. The wierd problem comes when I changed the amp to a DB Drive Speed 120.4. After switching the amps, I get a lot of noise. 1. Once I turn the ignition key to ON, I hear a high pitch whine. Once I start the engine, I hear loud buzzing sound from the tweeters (on top of the whine). Gain was set to only 20%. When I off the HU vol or engine, the speakers give a loud "pok" sound. 2. Tried turning all gain, bass boost and vol to 0, the buzzing sound is still very audible on all 4 speakers and tweeters. 3. For my setup, the 4ch amp is under the passenger seat. The power cable goes round the back of the driver seat to the amp, coming in from the back of the seat. The RCA and speaker cables comes from the front via the centre console to the amp. I made sure RCA/speaker wires are isolated from the power cable. The grounding is done securely bolted onto one of the rear legs of the seats. It seems that as long as there's signal coming through the amp, the speakers produce noise. Took out the DB Drive and install back the Performa, everything back to normal. What could be the problem?
  7. Anybody have idea what cause the problem of cricking noise (as if nuts/metal has drop on the floor) when reaching the bottom of a slope down the MSCP. something wrong with the suspension. not sure its the spring, the shocks or arm or what else. it is ok while travelling normally and over gentle road humps.
  8. so far my AVEO has been performing expectation. other than the usual 1K servicing, i sent in my car to change the faulty reverse sensor (manufacturer problem, they said) however one morning, i started that car, the car can moved but all other electronic components like aircon/ radio/ power windows cannot work. the rpm of the car remained at the usual level. I need to stop the car, off the engine and restarted, this time everything back to normal. i thought it was an one timed issue but it happened 2 more times. I was thinking of a battery issue but i only got my car not too long ago. any ideas?
  9. Have any of you Fabia owners notice that only your right wiper blade has a wiper fin (spoiler like) attached to it? I checked with CA and they say it comes like that. Anyone knows why? Just curious.
