Only for the first few makings.....

After that, you will throw it into your storeroom ....

1) have to buy special self raising flour from Poon Huat or NTUC

2) have to add milk, butter

3) leave it for 4 ~ 6 hrs for flour to rise which of cause has to prepare everything in advance by 9.00 ~ 10.00 pm

4) machine auto bake the bread in the morning

5) when removing the bread to eat, there is one big hole in the centre of the bread cos the chunner that neat the dole last night

6) thereafter washing of the bread maker and leave it to dry and back to step No. 1 [grin]

Easier to go and buy from the shelve of 7-11, NTUC, Sheng Siong,.... etc. for a loaf of bread and the choices/varities of taste... -_-

I'm using the zojirushi bread maker regularly (almost every weekend). The core texture of the bread is totally different from off the shelf brand like sunshine. Very much like the european bread texture. Loving it every moment. I would pour all ingredient into the bowl before going to bed and by the next morning, the whole house would be filled with the aroma of the bread. Damn satisfying. Most importantly, preservatives free. BTW, i dun use special flour. Just the normal bread flour will do and it can be purchased from market and supermarket.

I'm also using it to make pizza dough. The texture of the dough is very similar to pizza hut. Fantastically delicious. [thumbsup]

Yoz TS,

Usually, the bread I made is consumed within 2 days, at most 3 days.

As other forumer also stated, home made bread have no preservation, so it will not last long.

I have also the same issue regarding dampness of the bread made. the reason is keeping over night without warmer.

I do not no know about your machine, my machine have warmer to keep the bread dry if it is not taken out after baking.

the other way is to air dry the bread after baking.

you may want to try using alkaline water to bake and see any difference?

My dear wife has been inspired of late to bake bread and other yummy stuff. We have a breadmaker but we don't use it to make the bread. We just use the function to knead the bread and get the dough to rise.

Looking at the breadmaker in action can be quite hypnotic.

Here are some of the bread that she has baked in recent times. This is ham and cheese.

This is a mega ham and cheese. Looked a bit like pizza, but tasted delicious.

Yes, home made bread must be consumed very quickly, because there are no preservatives.

Set up an immigration counter and chop all roaches.

The fragence from baking is highly inviting smell to coahcroaches. How do you handle this pest immigration? Many thanks.

can you make wholemeal bread too? Are the ingredients as easily available as for white bread?

Definitely. Wife wanted to make bread because the wholemeal content in commercial wholemeal bread was very low. So she has been using a lot more wholemeal flour. The ingredients are easily available and recepies are all over the Internet. You can also vary the recipies according to your taste, e.g. she usually uses less sugar.
