C3p0 Neutral Newbie September 4, 2009 Share September 4, 2009 I noticed that that part u mentioned cannot turn left into carpark, i notice vehicles coming out cannot turn right hence they need to turn left and go through ERP as well lol I agree and confirm that is the very very stupid part! Drive_carcar Clutched September 4, 2009 Share September 4, 2009 At last found some time and meet friends in ION Orchard and so wanted to park there. The entrance of the carpark is design to have only a right turn from the Orchard Turn only. If I come in from Orchard Boulevard, I cannot do a left turn to turn into the carpark. I need to pass the stupid ERP gantry, make a U-turn at the taxi stand in order to enter the carpark. $1.00 lost for 5 seconds in ERP zone. This is bullsh!t and it's a conspiracy! Want to drive to Orchard Road and park there, $1.00 is nothing. If heart pain about the $1.00, don't drive there, simple. Then at least those who don't worry about counting dollars and cents can drive in smoothly and find parking easily.
Sony 1st Gear September 4, 2009 Share September 4, 2009 I noticed that that part u mentioned cannot turn left into carpark, i notice vehicles coming out cannot turn right hence they need to turn left and go through ERP as well lol there's 2 exit point.. one to go into orchard turn to pay erp and another to turn out at orchard blvd without paying ERP.... Benarsenal Turbocharged September 4, 2009 Share September 4, 2009 If I have to go Orchard, I try not to drive. Parking is a killer. Or at least, try not to drive during ERP hours.

Drive_carcar Clutched September 4, 2009 Share September 4, 2009 My point is simple, cannot afford and sim tia about the cost, don't drive to Orchard Road and clog up the roads and carparks. Come here kpkb over $1.00 for what? If want to drive car then don't bother go and count the dollars and cents. If want to count dollars and cents, don't drive a car, take a bus. Limitedspeed Neutral Newbie September 5, 2009 Share September 5, 2009 it's on the other side of the road, .. eh.. can't remember the road name but it's betwee Sq 2 and the church.. I think the road is called Irrawaddy Road. If you are coming from the side of the Novena Church, turn left after the church. If you are scare of height don't drive up to square 2 caused the turn & way up is very steep. Right, I think put car at home and used MRT/bus services are better alternatives. Singapore is a stressful place to stay and drive. But, if you know the way around, things will seems more amicable
Babyt 4th Gear September 5, 2009 Share September 5, 2009 is elizabeth carpark lots plentiful?? i like square 2...coz plenty of lots and below is novena mrt, den only 2 stops away to exit orchard and directly to ION. all the while, no need to walk under the sun and rain! hehe. Have to agree with you on this point. It never ceases to amaze me that Singaporeans can afford to buy $60k-$100k car and start to think of ways and means to save $1, $5...etc. Park illegally to save a few dollars, wait in certain car parks just because the coupon parking is cheapest. Case of pound foolish, penny wise. Totally ridiculous. Nice to look at from outside but basically empty shell inside.
Babyt 4th Gear September 5, 2009 Share September 5, 2009 there r things that are not worth paying like ERP charges. it doesnt matter its just $1. its like telling ppl...u are earning 5K and yet u are not willing to pay for $8 coke? why sld i pay $8 for a coke at pub when I can get 1.5l bottle at less than 2 bucks? If I'm not wrong there's another entrance along Orchard Boulevard (duh!) right after you pass the Orchard Turn and dan after the MRT entrance/exit. Right before where there's a bus stop used to be. There's also an exit right after the entrance I mentioned if you are coming out of Ion again to Orchard Boulevard. Duh! No ERP at all. Yuan 6th Gear September 5, 2009 Share September 5, 2009 you can park at Wheellock and walk through the underpass to ION Orchard. Usually if I go to Orchard, I will either park at Isetan or Wheellock Place. Parking is by per entry.
