true that they are very unlikely to try dirty tricks.... my question is why my car got problems ONLY after servicing with CAS???

the spark plug incident, i can forget about it, coz maybe not all mechanics know about certain cars use certain spark plugs....

but my brakes and air con???? before go CAS, nothing happening... everything is in order..... my air con gas is not even empty!!! still got alot of gas inside....

hey man.... if i go other smaller workshops, i never go drink somewhere, no matter how long they take to do the car, unless the workshop is highly recommended by fellow bros........

CAS, no choice, must wait in lobby or come back later to collect car.....

From you description the brake fluid leakage is definately noticebale not just minute seeping so logically the tech at the inspection doing the undercariage check should have notice the leak. How did the leaking brake system in the first place managed to built up more than 2,000psi of braking force without giving away when the car wheels were subjected to brake testing.

Apparently the workshop in question didn't carried out any pre-inspection check before sending the car to the inpsection centre, if they have carried out the pre-inspection thoroughly, again the leak could have been detected !!

You are a very brave man indeed!!For me I will immeidately stop the car once I notice the brake system has fail and call the shop concern to tow it back.

That's right, shoot a letter to the company top office and cc to thier group managing director. By doing this you are actually help them to improve thier bottom line.

Ya. I guess times r hard la..Tat's y mayb they go underhand methods 2 get more biz [shakehead] which is of course nt an excuse 2 chop customers. Nwdays u c on the road got so many new cars. Most of the new cars sure go back 2 agent 4 svc-ing, left the older cars ard to do biz wif but SG gt so many car workshops so biz for workshop is v.poor.

IMO, it's better if u go 2 those workshops that pple recommend.

CAS is partly owned by the govt - dun think they will try dirty tricks.

...maybe rite in certain sense...cos no one at workshop except them.

i dunno man......

before CAS servicing, i always checked myself on all fluids containers to make sure all are ok, when on daily driving. I'm very sure my brake fluid container is very full to the max. I only noticed my gear box oil is leaking abit.

everything was ok before CAS servicing.

maybe i should just shoot a letter to the top office there. but this kind of thing, they can easily argue that my car problems only come after they serviced. it's their words against mine.....

but then again, when i got this air con problem, i should not let my mobil workshop do the rectification job. I should just drive to CAS, act blur and tell them about my air con not cold.... and let them check on it. And if they tell me that my compressor or whatever other air con parts spoilt, i will F**K them there and there!!!!

Catching them red-handed for lying to customers!

Then i will have proof that they are doing sleazy things to cars!

Yeah, i was brave to drive back to CAS for my brake problem.... actually abit scared on the road..... my left hand was on the handbrake handle, just in case..... [laugh][laugh]

Allow me to share about the brake fluid and gearbox oil....It is alright not to have your brake and gear box oil full. Brake oil will fall whenever, the brake pads are wearing, so long it is within the limits. It is also good to have an indication of the wear. If it is leaking you can see it in the caliper or pump(generally the rubbing sealing will tell). As for the gearbox oil, contrary to popular believe, some car do not need to be tough for it 10 years lifespan. The silly mechanic will top it to the brim is their way of doing "maintenance"(note the quote), and not knowing that it will cause the gearbox to over heat due to heat and expansion, hence it will damage your gearbox. The way to do this is to top it up to 75% drive for a distance, while it is hot and then top it up.

What was said is a common knowledge with DIY maintenance but somehow I do not know why it is not understood in Singapore.

hi,

just to want to share my experience with CAS.......

went for servicing at CAS last month, coz they got this inspection servicing where you pay abit cheaper for the LTA inspection fee and CAS guaranteed pass. plus whole lot of benefits they offer to do to yr car. So ok, sounds good. and i tried.

this is not the first time i service at CAS. for quite time already.... my previous ride and this current ride, i serviced at CAS.

brought my car there, and left it there for whole day for them to do whatever necessary, including bringing my car to Vicom or STA inspection.

Passed already, so happily collect my car back.

Now, on next day or the day after next, that morning, i was driving to work and i realised my brakes are not working properly. the brake pedal can press right onto the floor and the car is not braking fully. reached office, open up the bonnet and realised the brake oil is gone.... down to almost empty in the container.

lunchtime, i quickly brought back to CAS for check it up. they say the brake hoses is gone, got cuts.... so ok, got to change.... charging me $28 per hose, plus brake oil bleeding and new brake oil and labour service. all in $100. Sabotage from your surrounding area, by cats or rats..it happens before, theres so many factor

so i ok. LL. and i asked the guy whether the mechanics forgot to do tighten something during the servicing, and this may cause leakage somewhere.

the CAS guy says this is a new problem, after the initial servicing. if got problem, Vicom inspection would have spotted the problem already....

so never mind, change everything and off i went.....

then 1 day after this brake hose replacement, i realised my air con is not working properly. no cold air coming in.... just warm air..... WTF!!!!

How come i sent to CAS for servicing, got so many problems happening...!!! before CAS, not a single sxxt happen! Again you mind-set...it must be CAS..even if your tyre is puntual or any other sudden problem..its normal to behave like this but check the cause before you insist its their fault

at first i thought got no more gas in air con. coz i remembered close to almost a year, since i top up air con gas.....

but this time, i never go back to CAS.... i started to have doubts about them.... instead i just to my office next door mobil workshop to check it up.....

this mechanic open up bonnet, put in the air con gas tube and pumping gas, he realised something wrong. he looked at air con compressor, looked at the wiring, tested the wiring and told me the electrical wiring to the air con compressor is loose! so there is no electricity going to air con compressor, and therefore compressor is not working at all! One of the possible fault

WTF!!! i asked him, the wire is quite deep inside the engine front. No one touches the wirings at all, he just explained "sometimes, car in motion, the wirings have just come loose." i can accept his explanation. This is very true, happen to my car as well, fan wire lose & causes overheating.

lucky it's just a simple job, re-wired back and that's it!

BUT how come all things are happening ONLY after the CAS servicing????? You make it sounds like CAS fault

now i beginning to doubt CAS's integrity........ You have the right cos you r paying for services but u might be wrong by jumping the gun & direct all faults to them

imagine if i had gone back to CAS for air con problem, they may just say "oh, compressor spoilt already or condensor spoilt already, must change." and they will chop like $300+!!!Don't imagine...you r in the forum & you donno whos watching your post, at any 1 time if your imagination is wrong & the company name being mention, you'll be in trouble

this is not all! the previous CAS servicing i had was in April.... they used the wrong spark plugs for my ride. WTF!!!! after driving for 1 week, my engine start to feel funny... something not right..... i didnt go back to CAS..... i went to Stamford tyres... the mechanic took out the spark plugs and showed them to me.... they all burned!!!! KNN!!!! one week old spark plugs!!! all burned!!!! the stamford guy told wrong spark plugs used.... must use the correct ones.

so he just changed, and my engine is perfect again!!!

if i had gone back to CAS for this problem, they may say another problem and chopped again!!!! If...you presume??

i dun know about how you guys feel about CAS, but i really started to doubt them......R u suggesting all to follow what u r thinking & make sure what you say its true & agree with all your points?

is this another way for them to get more business????Talk to them directly with all your points & ask them about their business plan if you r keen to know

As a consumer, its normal for u to blame them, to me i don't think you handle the problems well.

1 R u saying Vicom did not do a proper inspection. If your brake fluid is leaking, your brake system will not be working at all. However the following day the problem surface & you blame it on them. Fair??? It only take less than 30mins for your brake fluid to dry out if theres a leak hence it took you the next day to realise. So tell me right from the time you took your car back till next morning, whats the estimated time frame??

I'll blame the workshop if it happens within 2-3 hours, cos if there isn't any QC check & they pass out the car. For this car Vicom is involve in the inspection & the soft copy(inspection list) is the best to prove you wrong immediatly

2 If you think you r very sure they causes all the mishap, make a complaint to their head-office & let them investigate, if its true, start posting openly in the forum.

Sorry to be the odd one here & i'm not related to them, i just feel if consumer like us can't judge whats right or wrong...our service level in singapore will have a hard time to reach a certain standard. Very often we hear consumer banging table, F words start flying around blar blar blar....Life is not easy as a service staff...cool down alittle & give these people a break.

I'll strongly suggest not to mention company name in the forum if your case is not 100% true, you'll never know who is watching you. I've seen some members openly apologise to the company in the forum before & i don't wish this thing happen to you. By then it'll be too late.

You should complain to CASE! Ok forget CASE, they are just plain useless... Anyway maybe you should write to ST Forums, see what the CEO will say.
I strongly agree if he feel he've been rob...he should do it. Writing to ST don't cost anything at all

in the past, i always support CAS..... sent my previous ride for most of the servicing to them for 3 and half years. and nothing went wrong with my previouis ride.... they even got check all the faults with my engine, but dun bother to pester me to repair with them.

But with this present ride, there is always something went wrong after each service. I only tried 2 times, and these 2 times got problem!

I starting to doubt them. i believe they purposely do something to the car, hoping that you will go back to them for repairs.

Its a very inmature way for saying such thing. You can doubt them, boycott them but you can never presume them for doing this & that to get buisness. I really wish your future workshop good-luck, perhaps its a blessing for them not to have such customer.
