Owner of a copen here.... what is the meaning of COPEN is comparable to STI for the 1st and 2nd gear???

Does anyone drive with the 1st and 2nd gear only?

You should compare to a Impreza 1.5 or 1.6L not STI... there is until 5th to 6th gear to top speed....

No doubt it can be faster than a sunny..... even with the speed limiter removed... the max speed is only 180km/h... which is higher than a 1.5l Suzuki swift

Would you care to share the 0-400m timing with us?

We're talking about taking from stand still, 1st and 2nd gear comparable to a stock STI. Not that he drives with 1st and 2nd gear only. I've yet to ask him his quarter mile timing.

Sw20 bro, are you in Copen Sg forum? If you are, you will know who's Copen I'm talking about. ^_^

Did he meant faster on track or just on the straights? If it's just straight line pick then nothing much to shout about since the Type R is not very fast in that department. Of course you can argue that it is impressive for a 660cc car to beat a 2L Vtec engine but then again any class 2 bike can do the same. Small engine on a light chassis makes a whole world of difference. It would be more interesting if the Copen can beat the Type R on a track like Suzuka.

I think the boss meant straights, haven't ask him enough as his english wasn't that good. But on track I would say a Copen will definitely lose out.

Hahaha smoke is still smoke.... keep up with 1st gear and 2nd gear... and losing out... u r more than 200m behind in a 400m meter race..

Not sure what is there to brag about being fast or comparable in the 1st 2 gears.... perhaps is just brainless ego...

Anyway bro just to clarify, which sentence did I brag? (It's not my car, I'm stating a full HKS setup might give you such power. Believing it or not, it's solely at your discretion.) If you're in copensg forum you should know whose Copen I'm talking about. And since you are a Copen owner as well, you can dump in the money and try such a set up.

bro, for me, this car has certainly made me slow down abit in our fast-paced lifestyle and enjoy what i've been missing all these years of driving.. haha.. enjoying it, and so far i'm getting abt 12-13km/l for the auto.. this car is still surprising me quite abit during this 3-4weeks of ownership.. :D :D

PS: the previous owner still hasn't found the wind deflector.. kaoz..

Wah bro your fuel consumption is damn good for an AT Copen. I'm hitting 10km/l. Maybe because I'm heavy footed, shall try hypermilling see if consumption will improve. But even so doubt will be as good as yours, as I've certain items changed from stock like low temperature thermostat (highly recommended for our tight engine bay).

Bro are you getting a lot of wind from behind when your top is down? There's this Take-off or D-Sport wind deflector for Copen, bigger than stock ones and it fits nicely right between the bars and your seats. Price wise unsure but think it's around 300plus! Shipment time might be long cos of Japan's natural disaster. Or maybe can try to DIY one :)

I mostly achieve 13-14k/lt on SPC98. Use their SPC card and POSB Everyday card for best rebates/savings. Each week I pump around 31L each time? Monthly petrol and cashcard costs me about less than $300/mth.

Oh i'm on AT also. My car is stocked. Not zheng

Yup your consumption is very gd for AT Copen. Tried hypermilling but didn't produce any good results my consumption became 11.2kml instead of 10kml. Maybe my hypermilling method is wrong. Someone enlighten me?

i just pumped car today. Achieved my best today - 14.9km/l. Never hit before.

Mostly the speed is kept aroudn 90km/hr on expressways on average. I would say about 60-70% expressways driving?

Mine so far i pump Esso Ron95. When i'm harder on the car for the tank, i'm getting ard 11.5 - 12km/l. Otherwise normal driving, so far best is 13km/l. This car is stock, except for the 195/45/15 tyre and rims which came with the car when i bought. Hmm, another thing i realise is that the air-con compressor kept kicking in and out very often, is that normal for u guys too?

Another thing i noticed.. This car, when i drive till the "E" mark, i pump in ard 31-33L. So how big is this tank? Saw on wikipedia that its 40L. Also, wad sort of engine oil u guys are using? i saw on the owner's manual (freaking lot of alien jap printings, hehehe), that the oil to be used can be 5W30..

PS: i hope that previous owner returns it and not use it for some other purpose man.. haha.. i saw on ebay the plastic itself, got ppl selling a set of 3 different colors for USD15 i think..

bro honestly, so far driven twice with top down.. all i felt is super lot of wind everywhere.. hahaha.. when i wound up the 2 windows, still alright. from behind, hmm, i think abit ba, coming from between the seats, the gap there.. cuz i can fit snuggly into the seats without my head sticking out.. hehehe...

Yup our meter don't show reserve tank, so at E you would had used 31-33 liters of petrol. Tank capacity is 40L. Due to our high rev engine, I would recommend 5w40 for at least more protection. I'm using amsoil oil and redline d4 atf. And for aircon compressor kicking in often, same goes for mine. It's normal I guess, due to our tight engine space, a lot of heat tend to build up. I would recommend u to remove the engine cover if you haven't done so. :)

Do u have the black clips on your anti-roll bar for the wind deflector still? You will need it for the wind deflector.

HH, your redline ATF is D4? Bought at m---------s? (http://www.m---------s.com/Redline%20pricelist.htm)

Can I check with you how many bottles (Quarts) you need to get for 1 copen ATF change, and which workshop you did your ATF change?

Hi, wondering if anyone has this problem with the central locking system where the remote control won't unlock one of the doors? I suspect it is a broken door actuator but before I buy an actuator for $320 I would like to find out if that's the part that's broken.

Hi bro, buy 3 bottles more than enough. After draining out, the top up should be 2quartz plus. I went over to Robert. He's familiar with the car :D or u just buy 2 quartz and take my remaining ATF. Still left a lot! [cool]
