doesn't the copen's fragile size worries you, those big wheel truck on highway can "accidentally" squash you like a bug?

Actually I would say Copen fared quite well in a crash test. Although not as good as some cars but it's not that bad! YouTube for "Copen crash test". And also I don't think Copen drivers will dumb enough to travel behind or in front of a big truck for a period of time. cheers! :D

Ok, am really curious about Copen's performance..just for the sake of petrol head discussion, may i noe what are the parameters of performance of this car?

A bro said a couple of pages earlier that a done up copen can hit early 6 for century sprint.

Is this achievable on the simple IHE mods? Am quite quizzical as copen is only 660cc. I know a turbo has vast potential but 6 seconds from a 660cc sounds really good to me to be true. Does it mean a well tuned up Mitsubishi I can do the same?

Would like to hear from you guys.. ^_^

Yes early 6 secs is doable on a Copen with a HKS full setup DX30. On dyno 120horses on 800kg, u do the math ^_^ 1st and 2nd gear is found to be on par with a stock STI.

Care to explain what's a full setup? Does it include upgrade of engine internals to attain better boost?

Or do you mean swapping out for a larger turbo?

Or both? Or does swapping out for a larger turbo entail internal upgrade as well?

If can hit 6 seconds, that's awesome. Might consider this as my next car if it can be so fun.

Hey bro I'm not sure about engine internals. But exhaust, bigger turbo, larger intercooler are the main items.

I'm still new in modding Copen, mine is still rather stock except for some electronics onboard. 120bhp is running on a safe 1.2bar. If upgrade engine internal and hit 1.5bar, 6 secs shouldn't be a problem. I guess still goes down to the deeper the pocket the faster your car!

And bro the fun part of this car it's the "zippiness". With suspension upgrade coupled with struts and anti roll bar, you can take a corner well. Only bad part is can't drift cos front wheel drive. :D

I bought my copen last yr 2010 Oct, its a stock, not mod..

quite fun to drive and my son loves the (transformer) action when I bring down the top

But there is not enuf space for me to put my shoes..

and the ride is really low, I can feel all the bumps on the road.. not cool..

so I may drive it another 3yrs, and get me a Mini One..

test drove this last wk, quite impressive ride..

to add, I drove top down on the high way from Vivo to Kallang (PIE) i believe, not too good with roads.

at 80 / 90 km, its rather scary.. cos car is small , low and light, and your senses are heightened since top is down..

you hear so much noise from other cars / trucks..

I was pretty freaked out.. so I dun recommend top down driving at high speeds for copen..

unless you are a thrill seeker..

feels like a ride in a cheap rollercoaster.. dangerous

haha, may i know how old ur son ? do you think a 1.8m boy ok, with the space ?

1.8 would be rather small for u

some passenger comments, I classify for your understanding

1. 1.85 man, middle age. - He had to hunch his shoulders in my car, its rather dangerous for him, cos when top is down, the silver chrome thingy behind him, is lower than his head. should any accident occur, heavy object fly by when open top. Would knock his head

2. 1.66 man - ok with space, seat can be pulled back, decent leg room

3. 1m 4yo boy.. loves it.. not on child seat, safely tucked in with seat belt

so., for your 1.8 m, i think this car may not suit u,. not ergonomical for u..

I am 1.64, getting in and out of my car, I get frequent bumps on muy head as its really low

Dude...I gotta be honest, if you think the MiniOne is a good car and 80-90 km/h is high speed then I would pretty much discount your opinion on anything motoring related. :D

The mini one is an abomination, and my colleague that drove a copen couldn't drive his way out of a paper bag. When I priced the car, it was grotesquely overpriced for the performance. [:(]

I have driven monster cars (4 to 5 L cars) before, but my judgement is based on small cute cars

The mini is an OK ride for its size / capacity. Its performance for such a small cute accessory car is reasonable.

I find Audi Q1 to be pretty cute and snazzy too.

Not considering price as the factor.

For anyone who would love a copen to buy it, would likely be someone who loves cute things.. and can afford buy a small 2 seater .. copen is not really very exp either..

a mini would also be in the consideration since its not very exp / small and cute..

How u price the car, that depends how much $$ you can/ willing to burn for your ride..

100k ++ for a small cute car may be too exp for you, but it isn't to me.. (not too snobbish for you I hope)

My hubby doesnt believe in spending this amt for a small 2 seater, but then again, its my ride, I pay for it, and its worth my $$
