My dad was born right in the middle of Japanese occupation.

It was so chaotic then, that there were no proper doctors and documentation. He was delivered by a mid wife.

His IC does not reflect the correct date of birth and no one can certify when he was born.

That blue car looks like a Fiat 500. This is Mycarforum so must mention the car. laugh.gif

At 2004 just before demolition.

BritClub_2004.jpg

If I am not wrong, the former NCOs' Club was never demolished. It became a site office for some govt office. It should be still around.

British War Memorial at bukit Batok, early 1940s (I never know there 's memorial at Bukit Batok, anyone has any idea where is this?)

Two memorials used to stand on the hilltop at Bukit Batok Nature Park, Lorong Sesuai. The one for Japanese soldiers - Syonan Chureito - was built by 500 Allied Prisoners of War. The other memorial for Allied Soldiers was a wooden cross that stood behind. The Japanese demolished both before the British returned. Only the staircases leading to the site remain.
