I remember the BA got a whistle that warns u when the air supply is running low. [:)]

For scuba, u better have a reliable divers watch. [laugh]

When a propane tank is ruptured and the rupture point ignited, the flame will burn from the rupture point. No explosion will happen. Hollywood science is invaded common sense.

Petrol in the other hand will spill on the ground and petrol itself is indeed hard to ignite but petrol fumes is easier than dry tinder. Again Hollywood science has invaded common sense.

Hahaha. Maybe I've been watching too many Hollywood movies recently. [laugh]

Is NGT version being sold as a new car (apart from taxis) ?

I thought they only sell the normal version. Maybe PIs brought them in?

I've checked with Mo*a today. They can't do CNG on W210.

it's definitely available as a private passenger car. i see before.

NOW, i not so sure. u best check with C & C [nod]

Confirm sold as a private new car.

Seen a couple filling up in JB stations, Mandai and Jln Buroh. Cheaper than the regular E200 Kompressor even!

ya probably because of the 40% rebate.

But for us it doesn't make sense to sell this car away and get another same car... sigh. Buying car and owning cars in singapore always got so many unpredictable policies...

Btw, C Melchers want to take a look at this car before deciding if it's possible to install. They quoted around 6K for installation (if doable). So ROI will probably take longer. Furthermore this car only left 3yrs to go if we don't renew COE. Although now we think it's worth to just pay for a COE and forgo the PARF rebate but we never know....we could decide differently at 10th year. So the CNG must ROI before 2years otherwise there isn't any savings.....

tot can c your big wagon.

=================

Not big lah. It's actually smaller than my previous Corona.

Last time can see the actual car pics online. Cos the seller advertise on the net. So far everything is the same. I have not done anything to change it. Even still with the same steel rims. [laugh]

Yes, SCUBA got the gauge but sometimes u so engrossed u forget to check. Wait all of a sudden no more air come out. [shocked]

That's why some of my frens who dive regularly carry the small stand-by tank which has 5 mins of air. Just enough to surface safely. [scholar]

Firstly....Happy Birthday to you. [bounce2][laugh][bounce2][laugh][bounce2][laugh]

Ask u something. I check the costs via CNG website.

http://www.cng.com.sg/product.html#pricelist

It got quite a number of packages.

What is the diff btw lightweight steel cylinder Vs Composite cylinders ?

For the last package, 1x28L & 1x62L for SGD 6,900. The "6 cylinders only" means what ?

Can get 2 sets of 1x28L & 1x62L ? Is 6x62L possible ?

Steel cylinder and composite cylinder big difference.

1. Cost. The composite costs half your regular steel cylinder installation price. So if 4k is for steel, you add 2k to the 4k = 6k for the composite.

2. Composite also smaller so you might need two stacked on top of another.

3. Composite cylinder got shorter lifespan. After some years, must change.

I saw Camry taxi use 1x60L and 1x28 to increase capacity and thus range. 6x62L? You siao ah! Want to drive round the world in CNG mission? laugh.gif

Considering using composite cylinder instead of steel, based on the following:

1. Weight. Read somewhere that the composite tank is 1/3 the weight of the steel tank.

2. FC. A lighter CNG tank would give better FC in the long run, and equates to fuel savings.

3. Rear suspension lifespan. Lighter tanks could prolong the lifespan of the rear suspension, compared to steel tanks. Hence the maintenance cost would be lower.

Thing is, I can't get figures to calculate the would-be FC savings. But I'd guess for really high-mileage usage, it could be re-couped. The lifespan of the composite tank should outlast the COE.
