Do take note that it may be possible that the actually voltage on battery and thru cigg adapter might be different. Example, Chevrolet Optra - difference is 0.2V

I am using a cheap and good malaysian battery from giant, cost only RM90 for NS60, still going strong after 3 years and i expect it to last a few more as it is well taken care for by a desulphator. But i noticed that most cars with battery problems are relatively new cars and the older COE cars like mine do not have much problems in this area. If you have to change battery every year it is very expensive hobby, a normal battery should last a few years, even taxi batteies are long lasting.

I'm waiting for this one to die out next year before I get a conventional one from Malaysia. I kinda like the Yokohama Flat Top but it is the most expensive! Going for MYR190-200! I think the Yuasa will be so much better. Heck! Even the FB seen under lorries will be better!

When testing battery always take reading directly from the battery terminals.0.2v is the voltage drop due to wire or chasis ground resistance. Max volt drop permissible should be not more than 0.5volt.You can check voltage drop with digital volt meter - either terminal positive to positive sid of elect component or negative terminal to chasis ground.

Stock batteries are sized to meet the car electrical min requirments - normally 45 0r 55 amp/hr. Once you start to add more accessories, the battery will go flat in no time.

The initial battery which came with my COE car when I purchased it was Yokohama Flat Top. I just need to top up battery water once and it will remain for very long time without need to top-up. Tried to find locally but unsuccessfully...

 

I would prefer that over those MF batteries.

The convenience you pay for an MF battery is not justifiable the way I look at it. $100 for one and has to be changed yearly. Water used to top up the conventional battery is cheaper over 3yrs!

If you know how to DIY just go Giant they sell bat. But MY bat are make in MY. Some times got offer rm160+ can get MF bat. Last time I go buy one and keep (but I charge them up) But you have to know wat bat you using and take a pic be going to find coz quite limited models.
