Gov already said increase cost on car ownership so no need to talk on savings [:/] . The purpose of adding Special Tax is to offset your savings to not much different from petrol-driven cars. It's still LPPL.

Agree.

Diesel car will be cheaper to own than in the past...but overall it's still more expensive (in most cases) than the petrol car...cos of the special tax and higher price tag.

The other thing is inspection which is not mentioned. How will NEA access and price the inspection? Will it be the same as petrol-driven? [sly]

One thing for sure there will be the addition black smoke test which is done on commercial vehicles.

The reason there is no saving is that i m not a sales person. My total mileage 4 2007 is less than 20k. If my mileage is 25k, there will be some saving.

Anyway, my comparison is not realli fair as BMW 123d is twin turbo diesel. So, it will consume more than single turbo.

That's the Jetta TSI (the supercharged and turbocharged one) I believe bro, not the TDI. VGS haven't started selling any TDI passenger vehicle yet, only in July. The first one they gonna sell is the Touraeg I believe.
