I wish to add to the list - Ang Mo Kio road from ITE in the direction of ex Seagate factory, there is this overhead bridge where the snipers are positioned. also the overhead bridge just before Ikea Tampines along TPE. Also encountered snipers along YCK Road in the direction just outside Gerald Drive. They would ambush behind the trees. Bystander50 5th Gear November 22, 2015 Share November 22, 2015 i'm curious. Have you guys seen these mobile speed cameras operating at night So far I've not seen any after 8pm. Mornings and afternoons alot, even on sundays and public holidays, but never at night. Anyone can advise? They do use these mobile cameras at night, but not at overhead bridges like the way they are used in day time. At night, they'll use the cams to detect your speed and relay your vehicle number to the road block further down the road. These cameras may look advanced, but are not as advanced as what you perceived. Unlike existing Red Light Cameras and Fixed Speed Cameras, the MSC has its own power source and can be deployed swiftly to new locations within a week. With a 1.5-metre square footprint, it is compact and can be deployed at most locations. As road safety improved over the last year, the fatality rate continued to fall. The fatality rate in 2015 dropped to 2.75 per 100,000 persons from 2.83 the previous year. The number of drink driving accidents also fell by 26.5 per cent last year, while the number of drink driving offenders caught fell by 23 per cent. However, the number of accidents involving elderly pedestrians increased from 194 in 2014 to 211 last year. To prevent this, Traffic Police also aim to educate motorists about safe driving techniques and how to avoid dangerous behaviour on the roads. Under the Safe Driving Course launched in November last year, motorists can get three demerit points deducted from their driving records upon completing the course. These looks strenuously mobile..... mobile yes, but to move it in position, minimum need to engage tow truck or lorry with lift gates to transport from one place to another. I don't foresee it being a grab, run and plonk kind of operations. Need lots more coordination and cost involved. Maybe a sting operation overnight kind of situation.
