the other day, went to geylang for durian and my bil pointed out one weird phenomenon... no matter how jam the geylang area road is daily and nearly 24hrs also heavy traffic, there is not a single ERP gantry along the to-fro strecth and it wont have one for sure it seem....

wonder why it's like that..... some conspiracy theory or that area run by some big brother whom even miw dare not offend??.... [confused][lipsrsealed]

If the government puts up gantry there, business will suffer. If business suffers, the chickens will run elsewhere to do their business. This I believe is the reason why there's no gantry there.

In case you're not aware, Geylang is one of the "gazetted" red-light areas so in a way, the Police can have more control over vice activities instead of running around the island catching chickens.

Eh...no leh. LTA and Lemon Lim says if put up gantry, business will be better because people who use that road (in this case, geylang or Sims) is for the purpose of visiting Chickens (or buy durians). Bypassing traffic from Tanjong Katong to city will take other routes.
