Singapore is only a tiny market for Shell.

You'd be surprised that toothpaste 'Colgate' is under them.

They make more money in other business entities.

With the price rigging here in SG, can't see how it is a loss-maker for them.

Didn't case say this is not happening here?

Isn't colgate under colgate-palmolive?

How is it linked to shell?

It's not about whether they make money or not.

It's whether the amount of money they forecast to make is better than the amount they can sell the business for.

Does anyone have the list of Petrol stations each brand has in SG? I remember when BP was leaving, the rumor was that Hinleong would buy over their stations but Petrochina got it in the end.

If Shell really leaves, hope the buyer is someone new rather than one of the existing players but it will be more logistically challenging as all the current players already have refineries in SG.

There's talk that Shell is going to withdraw operations from SEA, and focus on aviation fuel.  :o

If that happens, I see Esso or SPC taking over the existing Shell stations in Singapore.

SG is a maritime hub. Shell is making lots from lubrication oil here. They have a major distribution centre here with testing facilities. My Shell contact did not indicate to me that they are exiting SG. I am in contact with him with regards to marine lubrication oils for our vessels. They are bidding for our global contract at the moment and SG is where majority of their lubrication oil is available.

Can't say whether the rumors are true or not but usually your shell contact will also be the last to know for this kind of news.

Why must withdraw operations from SEA before can focus on aviation fuel? Cannot focus while in SEA?

And withdraw means no more refining here or no more selling here?

Sounds like exit retail business but not refinery business

but I find this unlikely as it seems to be profitable especially

with the tie up with 7-11.
