Just drink it if you really like it bro.

It's all a matter of context. Sure some carbs will be infused into the water from the rice, but unless you drink many cups a day, don't worry about it.

There are so many chemicals added into our tap water like chlorine, flouride...etc which are all classified as poison, but in minute amounts, they won't kill you (quickly).

In short, have a cup or 2 if you like. I don't think that alone will make you fat. But of you drink it from morning to night like I drink green tea, then you might want to rethink rice tea.

Thanks bro [:)]

I just drink at most 1 tea bag a day (usually enough for two cups)...

I usually drink green tea (Japanese and Chinese) but sometimes for a change, I will drink rice tea - the roasted flavour is quite nice

Disconnect Seen Between PCPs, Obese Patients

This was the headline of an article I just read this morning in Family Practice News, the April 1, 2010 edition Vol. 40, No. 6. The article itself was on page 5. Basically the article goes on to say that 'Patients want information on weight control, but physicians say they don't have enough training.'

It was very encouraging reading that statement because it is true. We physicians receive very little instruction in the treatment of obesity and what we do learn in medical school, internship, residency and at our conferences is just plain wrong. I received 2 weeks of 'formal'instruction in nutrition in medical school taught to me by an overweight dietitian. I didn't learn the correct way to eat until many years later.

I would go on to add that not only do physicians need more information on the treatment of obesity, but heart disease and type 2 diabetes as well. You see, the common denominator in the treatment of these diseases is the understanding that it is sugar molecules (glucose, fructose, galactose) that the body converts into plaque forming deadly cholesterol and makes us fat. Until physicians are taught this, we will not solve any of the medical problems as delineated above.

I gave a lecture to a small group last night and one of the participants stated her doctor told her flat out that carbohydrate consumption does not increase inflammation in the body. This is false, it does. I bet this same doctor does not understand that cholesterol and fat production starts with sugar molecules, yet, it does.

My point is that when doctor's believe certain things, like what they are taught in medical school, they hold on tenaciously to that belief despite overwhelming contradictory evidence proving otherwise. Beliefs are hard to crack.

We need to start educating our health care providers on the correct way to eat so they can properly educate the millions of patients they collectively see throughout our nation.

i think last evening i was put under HIT without even knowing what i was doing.

i was on the pedal machine (i forgot the real name) daydreaming and apparently looking like i'm gonna die of boredom.

than got one dude i'm not sure if it was the gym instructer..

he ask me to follow him.

i was like, omg did i spoil the machine. is it i too fat to be onthe machine.

but he was nice enough to help me out.

i always go swimming but he say gym is much more effective.

i shy to go gym. everyone is so fit and i'm like the only ball of fat there..

but i just said i dont like monotonous work outs (truth)

than he ask me to do star jumps and other sort of jumps and many many sit ups and stuff like that all at a super fast pace.

something very similar to the HIT videos.

i am 52kg and i need to be 45~48kg like that by sept.

he told me to go for the full fat diet.. and everything he said is almost the same as CBS.

i asked, are you chickenbackside?

and he was like, wtf is that? lol.

helpful people everywhere in this world. [thumbsup]

I don't do my workouts in the gym usually. I like to kill many birds with one stone so I usually exercise outdoors so I can get my vitamin D and fresh air at the same time.

It's nice to know there are actually people who subscribe to the alternate hypothesis!

Seriously sis, if you want to lose body fat quickly, don't waste your time doing easy cardio type exercises like an easy pedal on the statonary bike. If you really wanna cycle the stationary bike, alternate between 30 secs all out as hard as you can and 1 min easy. Do that 6-8 times. As you progress, increase the intense parts and decrease the easy parts.

Apply this concept to any exercise and watch your body fat melt away (provided you eat right of course!).

Being slim, agile and strong, is what the human body had been designed for, so we could hunt and survive in a difficult environment. Being fat and weak was the result of not eating right. The moment u eat right, it's so easy for the body to transform back to the condition it was designed to be.

After correcting my diet, i've been exercising LESS and less, not more and more....and my muscles are getting bigger n bigger, not smaller, despite exercising less, and my bodyfat has become less in spite of all that LOL

To date, lost 8kg. Biceps and triceps straining against the tighter shirt sleeves LOL and i only exercise 15 min a day!

Our Paleolithic ancestors were not made to hunt relentlessly (neither are the other big predators like big cats btw)...they likely set up ambush near a watering hole or a path used by animals to get to a pasture spot, just sit around and wait for the food to come walking by, then kill it. Total "exercise" per day is like maybe at most 30 min?

Personally, i think exercising more than that per day, is very unnatural, not something we were designed for, and thus MIGHT be counterproductive, depending on circumstances. Injury and insufficient rest for muscles to grow, could be the result.

Aiya, exercise so much for what, learn from our cavemen ancestors, sit around the cave, do some cave-painting and just CHILL OUT lol

I have the same testimony to share.

Have been on this diet for close to a month. Tne funny thing is my exercise regime has actually dropped off. Whereas I used to do 6 reps of a full set of arm, chest etc workout. I now do only 3 or 4. Sometimes itz because I'm too lazy and mostly itz cos I dun feel as energetic as before. The funny thing is my weight still went down by a couple of kg and my six packs came back.

:D

My wifey lost about 3 kg at first but gained back 1kg after that cos she ate a lot. I think her calorie intake is 3000 and above.

My mom in law keep asking whether this dangerous cos we consume so much fats. She keep saying cholestoral will be super high and we will clot up our vessels. She also feel we could simply be those that have good genes and just wont grow fat.

Secretly I think she is considering to join us cos our bodies are getting slimer even as we pile on the fats. [laugh]

nothing to do with calories, this topic has been discussed before. I believe it's the menstrual cycle....women have greater weight fluctuation.

Sigh, how do we even begin to tell people that cholesterol is a poor indicator of anything, and there are different particle sizes, and different foods cause increases or decreases in specific LDL particle sizes?

Most people think I'm crazy or switch off when I start explaining. Sigh...

For me I lack energy for my usual runs. After the run can feel all my fuel gone. Once I actually couldn't balance properly and slight fainting that I had to slow down my pace. Complete stop would only alleviate my light headiness.

Can't proceed to do my next round of army PT, like chip up, push up, sit up..etc immediately. Got to rest for a about 30 mins before proceeding.

This Sunday got a Macritchiee run. No choice, I'm back to my usual high carbo diet for these 3 days. Don't want to feel light headed again during the run.

So we're experiencing the same thing.

Wonder why CBS doesn't have this 'problem', in fact, he says he's getting stronger and faster than ever before.

It's May soon, and I'd like to start preparing for Powerman in M'sia and Marathon at the end of the year [:/]

Maybe it's because I eat 5000 calories a day? Haha...

I weighed my beef before cooking today. My 4 pieces of striploin was 700g. Add a head of broccoli, and 1/2 a 250g block of butter, 2 cans of coconut cream with macadamias. That was lunch at 3pm. Right after I came back from my HIIT session.

Felt hungry during dinner time, so had a $5 bowl of kidney/liver soup + 1 pork leg.

I think that's more than 5000 calories today...

I never have a chance to weigh my portions [;)]

Breakfast was bowl of mixed salad with almonds & macadamias and slab of butter (no dressing of course) with coffee & a slab of butter.

Lunch was lamb t-bone steak with garden veg and house salad (no dressing).

Dinner was 2 pieces of curry chicken, I guess abt 300g of fish and few pieces of char siew and some green veg.

No snacking between meals. Today didn't exercise at all. So I guess my calories is prob 2500 tops. [:p]
