Hi, I just hit 3k+, 1st servicing at 10k. Why 5 yrs is bocs MOST people said that can't keep conti cars more than 5 yrs, but I hv my fair share on some of my previous jap cars too, so...

 

Some of the things I like about this car are:

 

Pros

1. Welcome lights, auto folding mirrors when you off engine, auto start, keyless entry, Michelin tyres, LED day running lights as standard. No need to ask for it. 5 yrs warranty and servicing for me:)

C&c sales person also don't sell all those mentioned above, not like Kia,Hyundai, Toyota and nissan sales persons did/doing.

2. Really spacious, plenty leg and head room. No 'hump' for back middle passenger

3. Really good fc, that saves me at least $200 every mth. Hits 1000km most days. Diesel is cheaper. Only spend about $60 every 2 wks.

4. Futuristic look.

5. Eco mode as standard ( auto engine cut off when stopping at traffic light, for fuel saving. option to turn it off when stuck in a jam. Vw called it blue motion)

5. High torque but turbo only kicks in on gear 3.

6. Nice sound isolation

Cons

1. Yearly road tax of $1344, 1.6l petrol engines only cost $800+ yearly.

2. Bigger body only means more time to wash car.

3. Semi auto gears need time getting used to, you will be ok after a few days.

4. Noiser than petrol engines if you are standing outside of the car.

Do note that CnC has replaced this model with new version with Euro6 engine and Aisin EAT6 gearbox. This gearbox was used in older Lexus models so is much more reliable and smoother than the ETG6 clutch less manual. I would say that with the reliability of the gearbox and the robustness and economy of the diesel....it's a win-win combo.

You travel 1000km a day???

14 days means 140000km only need 60 dollars of disesel?

 

Wah that means you service car every 10 days. After 100 days, your warranty will be all over.

Sry my ang mo no good to cause this misunderstanding. I meant 'most times'. Every 2 wks about 1000km, then need to pump of about $60. It's not easy to drive in s'pore a 1000km in a day isn't it? :)

went to test the picasso and indeed the aisin GB is almost seamless and no jerk.

 

The car is composed over hump but steering offers minimum feedback and the diesel clutter does intrude into cabin.

Sry my ang mo no good to cause this misunderstanding. I meant 'most times'. Every 2 wks about 1000km, then need to pump of about $60. It's not easy to drive in s'pore a 1000km in a day isn't it? :)

yeap, aisin tf60 or tf80 are almost creamy

cant feel the gear shift in my passat as well, just non stop shifting

Currently for Motor Show promotion (just ended), they gave 5 years warranty and 5 years servicing. 

 

Of course the usual front recording cam are given. In fact this car do not require too many freebies. It has most of the features you can think of!

Test drove the new Grand Picasso. Very torquey & gear change is smooth. Pity that features like Park Assist, halogen headlights & 3D tail lights are removed. Is the rim down-sized from 17" to 16"? Otherwise, I would have booked the car. Eager to see the new Touran before deciding. Meanwhile, hope that COE will soften further.

blue hdi is 16 inch rim

first batch e-hdi got 17 and those funky stuff, which some u dont really need imho (3d taillamp)

 

only diff b/w new n old touran is MBQ chassis, engine / gearbox still same, 7 speed dry problematic clutch

I can accept the removal of the 3D tail lamp but I really prefer the Park Assist which can be useful for tight situation.

The new Touran is bigger (slightly?) & total change (internal & exterior) from the current model.
