its a very old single clutch designed for comfort, in slow city driving the jerkiness is very obvious

its a design flaw worse than DSG

I think it's designed for fuel economy, less for comfort. If designed for comfort.... Then no jerk Liao la....

In Europe they are mostly driving manual car, so no problem there.

They should put in a proper 6 speed and above automatic.

It's an automated manual gearbox, a clutchless manual.... Alfa, Fiat, older Ferrari, had their own version of it...

 

It's meant to give driver control in gearshift (release the accelerator pedal when doing an upshot) without having to depress the clutch with the left leg

 

That said, it's prob not to best thing to use in an MPV as probably most are more keen in relaxed driving & cruising...

I've been considering the Picasso c4 5-seater primarily because I like it that there's space between the 2 front seats where I could place my briefcase or even exit through the left side should the right side be too narrow in a car park lot. Besides this model, is there any other car with this layout? any input?

watch out for

1) potential ecu s/w problems

2) comms2000 module (google what this is dont be lazy) <--this is quite a common failure part historically for PSA cars

3) lcd screen have lines across

tested the C4 Grand Picasso. Really really nice interior and super functional seats. loved the airy cockpit but I heard the reliability is pretty shtty.SA says its reliable and don't worry but why wouldn't he say that. Feature wise and interior its actually so much better than the odyssey (no electric tailgate?!). Price point too... Tried the Petrol auto version...

I drive the pre 2014 model. The gear shift stick behind the steering is a brilliant idea and the right location. That's where it's nearest to your hand when driving.

I tested the 7 seater diesel model. Can share with me is there any way to drive it smoother, no jerk in between gear change? The SE says it is the way I get too used to driving a jap car. I still couldn't understand the accelerate, release and accelerate theory. Whenever I accelerate again I can feel the jerk.
