Is there a significant reduction in the noise level of the 2017 Mazda 6 2.0 standard version as compared to the earlier models

Noise level is a very subjective issue.

Many people go for mod just to make their exhaust look bigger and produce lot of noise.

 

Generally, i feel the noise level for Mz 6 is nowhere near an acceptance level. BUT...... other area tick all and above all my standard... [thumbsup]

This I agree. Insulation and ride comfort are not its strength compared to others in this same class of cars.

Mazda 6, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Subaru Legacy, Kia K5, Hyundai Sonata, Volkswagen Passat, Opel Insignia, Peugeot 508 are all Mass Market Brand Family size sedan...

 

It all depends on what you are looking for, there will be something that appeal to different buyers. I have friends who don't need the space who opted for entry level luxury brands like the German Big Three

Yup, exactly. Each of these cars have strength and weaknesses against each other. It is what the buyer can compromise and what features are must have. It is kind of funny if one choose a mazda 6 (over others in the same class) because ride comfort or interior space is number one priority.

i will choose Mazda because of the 6sp auto transmission instead of CVT if possible

Do people change tires once they collect their car?

 

Never noticed the noise levels during test drive. Maybe because the SE turn on the radio.

trade in new tyre (1st day of collection) for maximum trade in value [thumbsup]

i always change out oem runflat tyres on day 1 immediately after collect car ... [laugh]

Never noticed the noise levels during test drive. Maybe because the SE turn on the radio.

Well, I changed out mine the next day after car collection to extract maximum trade-in value.

 

Noise level is pretty subjective and usually depends on what one is used to. If one had a quieter ride before the 6,then one might find the 6 noise. However if one had a noise ride before the 6, the 6 would deem to be quiet enough

Anyone tried sound proofing the Mazda 6?

I just did, 4 pieces sound dampening mats at each door, and 2 pieces at the front fenders. Tires are equally if not more important for reduced road noises. Personally I feel that the mat at the door coupled with my DIY sound dampening stripes on the door made the door opening and closing sound feel much better than the stock more hollow sound
