andrewyewkc 5th Gear March 1, 2018 Share March 1, 2018 I believe it helps that both my wife and I are light-footed in our driving behaviors. I find that the meter FC readings mostly outperforming actual average FC calculations. Excellent driving behaviour and excellent fuel consumption! If everyone drives like this, life will be less stressful and safer. ↡ Advertisement
DACH Supersonic March 1, 2018 Share March 1, 2018 Hi, Collecting my car soon but it comes with factory fitted halogen lights (Standard Edition). Have a few questions about headlights which I hope the experienced bros here can shed some light on. Basically I would like white light for my headlights, so I am considering either: a) Philips Diamond Vision Halogen (I know not LTA legal) b) LED Conversion Kit 5000k to 6000k colour (also not legal since mine is stock Halogen) 1) Is installation and de-installation (when going for vehicle inspection) easy for LED conversion kits. 2) I am concerned about the heat generated from both options. Would it melt any wires or cause headlight casings to crack etc, or worse still if there is any fire, electrical short circuit risk? 3) I read that LEDs have poor throw. But since I only drive in SG where there are street lamps almost everywhere, is this a key factor to take into account? 4) For either option, do I need to change something called the projector lens?? Or just plug and play. 5) What is the penalty by LTA / TP if we they issue a summon for illegal headlights? I suggest keeping the original headlights till the first 10k mileage servicing.I know it's very tempting, but try not to tamper the car before the first servicing. teomingern Supercharged March 1, 2018 Share March 1, 2018 My daily commutes comprise roughly 80% expressway, though heavy traffic and jams are not uncommon during my commutes at morning and evening peak hours on weekdays. @Daniel0606 I've not ventured into Malaysia so far in this car. @SuPerBored I believe it helps that both my wife and I are light-footed in our driving behaviors. I find that the meter FC readings mostly outperforming actual average FC calculations. Your fuel consumption is pretty amazing... my Sonata gets only 11 to 11.5 km/L based on calculation (whatever I pump in L divide by mileage clocked). I have clocked for 2 years already... never changed much.. I only hit 12.5 km/L once.... yours is really really impressive... my drive is 50/50 5 days a week...
Dna_engine 3rd Gear March 1, 2018 Share March 1, 2018 @dna_engine, I saw that you had a comment on who the SE was. I'm abit noob to this forum so couldn't figure how to respond to the comment itself. The SE was this chap called KT Chang. Friendly, not too pushy, din give any attitude like some SEs at other ADs + quite patient to take my father and then my wife through all the details of the car when I brought them down to let them test drive too. My wife bought an NX200T 18 months back and the Lexus SE actually updated us about the price and promotions over 6 months - saw the car in Feb and only decide to buy in Aug. Just surprised that SE from Mazda will do the same. When I first test drove the Mazda 6 wagon, the SE did not even bother to contact me after and I actually bought the car from the SE that was serving my Friend - service does make a difference.

The factory fitted lights are cheap to maintain, will not compromise your visibility in the dark, no safety issues, proven technology. Whereas if you change to the mentioned lights, will not improve your safety factor in the dark, at least not significantly, wont make your already nice looking new car looking a lot better, in fact most people will not notice it except yourself. But most of the time you are behind the wheel , so what you get is only a better feeling after spending money. Think again before you spend money. Poorman thoughts here. BlitzStryker 2nd Gear March 2, 2018 Share March 2, 2018 I just pumped petrol this morning and made the latest update of my fuel consumption record which I've been maintaining since the first pump: FC3.JPG There were occasional calculations across 2 fills when I forgot to reset the trip meter after the first fill. Bro can use app to keep track of FC. Eg fuelio. Much easier and more informative.

Juicy77 Clutched March 3, 2018 Share March 3, 2018 My dad just placed a deposit on the base model Mazda 6 for $106,800 (6 bid non guarantee) to replace his 2008 Honda Accord. He was a loyal Honda supporter until the the price of the Mazda 6 caught his eye. Thumbs up to the salesperson at Mazda who was very honest, knowledgeable and not pushy. Far cry from what we experienced at Komoco, C&C and Borneo.

Juicy77 Clutched March 3, 2018 Share March 3, 2018 Did the sales person then offer a discount for servicing outside in lieu of free in-house servicing for 3/5 years? Nope we asked for discount of price of the car -3k off the 109k list price, basically just matched the pre-CNY price of 106k. He will probably service at his regular workshop anyway and get parts from a Mazda stockist.
