All local Mazda 6 variants are not equipped with TPMS; indeed a disappointment. When will you be collecting the new ride for your wife? :)

Hi kykh,

Long way more cos did not take up the silver one available in Sep ... will be late Oct if not Nov.

Have a spare set of steelmate TPMS S11 solar display with internal sensors bought cos damn cheap after last 2 years of price up of sgd300 ... will not be wasting it then:

2017 Mz6 2.0L Executive

80% highway, though traffic jams are not uncommon while commuting to and from office.

Grade 95: 14.1 km/l

Grade 98: 15.9 km/l

V-Power: 16.4 km/l

As I charge my spending on fuel to my corporate card, the choice of petrol grade is obvious to me, especially given the benefit of the additives in V-Power. Hence, my figures for grades 95 and 98 may not be representative due to their small sample sizes, and may have been lower during the initial run-in period.

Above were based on conversions from average meter readings in l/100km. Overall, I'm achieving pretty close to the published fuel consumption of 5.9 l/100km (by the way, 6.8 l/100km is published for 2018 model).

Manual calculations based on actual distance travelled over actual quantity of petrol used were a little worse, as can be observed from my record of every refills (blanks were instances when I forgot to record the meter reading before resetting after each refill):

I remember the auto rear shade comes equipped in the luxury or super lux 2.5L model. So could be an original mazda part.

Hi Bros,

For Jap cross reference no. of our current 2018 m6 locally which is still GJ and not GL like Australia, the 2.0L should be still GJEFP ?

6 BA-GJEFP

Any bro with m6 2.0 2018 can help share photo of metal label on passenger door side entry area with such model info ?

Thanks and regards,

Richard

Hi Hobbes,

Yes, believe it did say original Mazda part and also emphasized that it does not come with the control switch as also shown.

Cheers,

Richard

OK.. , most likely will commit this weekend if no objection from wife..  [:p]

Hi Yellowduck,

This helps ??

https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/mazda/6/104094/new-mazda-6-2018-facelift-review

2.5L:Between 25mph and 50mph, two cylinders can drop out of operation to save fuel. It feels well executed, and you’ll struggle to notice the times when the engine is running at half its capacity. Claiming 42.2mpg on the combined cycle – about 34mpg in the real world– it isn’t actually that much thirstier than the smaller 2.0-litre petrol options Mazda offers as a result.

2.0L: We’d still probably opt for the smaller engine though. Despite having 191bhp on tap, this 2.5-litre unit musters up just 258Nm of torque – not a huge figure in these turbocharged times. Out of its peak spot around 4,000rpm it doesn’t feel significantly faster than the cheaper 163bhp, 213Nm 2.0-litre car, which revs out more sweetly too.

Cheers,

Richard

Need advice from owners of M6 fitted with the Blaupunkt car cam. On the BP9.0A App, I can view the video footage by downloading from the car cam to mobile phone. But on the App itself, it seems that the files can only be viewed but cannot be copied or forwarded to other medium. How would you do it if you wanna send a clip?

The original carpet looks good. Does any bro buy 2.0L standard please confirm the carpet is like video shown (07:51)?

It looks nice. My agent will give me a customized carpet. I wonder I should keep the original if it is nice like video shown.

Hi Contripro,

80% hwy makes big difference.

My fxt does 1 full tank driving 90/10 city/hwy can be 7km/l compared to 10/90 city/hwy >12km/l.

Does not help with different zoom zoom driving style for city driving by each owner and hard to compare even same car but indeed bro kykh's sharing has great FC.

Cheers.

fyi...many parts of the Mazda are made in China.... assembled in Japan...

rims for example are MIC.... i heard brakes too. rims are cfm mic as i used them for 2yrs in my mazda 3.

my current toyota parts, for what i can see are made in japan... rims, even the Goodyear tyres..... and interior parts...

i think mazda strategy of cost cutting is pretty obvious, to me at least

yo privacy, what car have you change now?

Any data to backup?

Hi Kenomi,

Think hard for bro privscy to do so and unfortunately all mass mkt mfgrs have to get MIC parts and they also cannot control (or even know) their parts suppliers from doing so.

At the least assembly which means QC is in Jap and they are not assembled by thai or myanmar workers with even more localised parts or assembled by immigrants even for MIE conti cars.

Cheers.
