So lucky.

Yours is August production or July production?

I also booked end July but still no news or updates. Only say August production.

Huh? Did u guys chose not to take the open category COE? COZ I also book at around end July, collected one week later on last day of July

anybody changes the camera to the type that will auto on when moving things detected? want to use this type, is it ok?

Planned to, but TEK advised against it. All sorts of reasons given.... Battery warranty void, electronics sensors like blind spot monitoring etc if not working not warranty...

Do you mean the boot cannot be opened by pressing the release button on the boot lid in drive mode when the engine is running but the car is stationary? Mine can as long as the car is not locked.

Is it because wagon comes with the boot release lever inside the cabin?

Good day kykh,

When engine running +  stationary, can open boot by release button at boot lid, gear must at N or P mode.

My previous model only at P mode.

When engine not running and door locked, can also open boot by release button as along as car key within detectable range.

Cheers.

Hi Astra,

Battery warranty void is reasonable if installed 24/7 parked recording si ce you are discharging every time you stopped car against finite no. of designed cycles.

I would bang table if I had installed additional dvr battery which does not do so and I always recommend to do it.

Cheers.

Richard

WAH!

Did you book the standard or Exec?

I was ok with any COE too. Open / Close / or whatever it is. Car still not here.

Thats why I wanna ask around to see if there are any other bros like me, stuck for a while already.

Perfectly normal... you're simply bringing forward your depreciation that is supposed to be amortized over 10 years to just 2 years... best is just drive your car to the end...

Hi Richard,

The 24/7 recording is tempting. Do you plan to install the additional battery pack for your new Mz6? If so, do you have any workshop recommendations?

Cheers.

my guess is TEK only gave open cats to those who booked Exec during the initial launch

I agree with the issues you posted. Driving a 2018 m6 also

1) yes the brake pedal has this irritating sound when I release it, especially at traffic lights.

2) on a hot day it can be unbearable. Usually need to turn to fan speed 3 and above with temperature setting between 15-18 to cool down the car. Was told that the temperature setting changed from earlier m6. Last time, min was 18. Now min is 15. Not sure how that works out

3) no steering wheel issues for me when reversing. But the steering wheel feels thin physically. I like to grab something chunky. Not a bamboo stick. Yes I have relatively big hands

4) I wonder how did Mazda miss this one. In-car boot release is fundamental, no matter how technologically advanced the car. I thought the Europeans were the champions of flawed and ambitious designs. Little did I realize Asian makes are none the better

5) no problem with a non-hydraulic hood. Car makers should always keep things fundamental and simple

6) I don’t have lane departure as I’m driving standard.

Other annoyances

a) the car sounds like a diesel when accelerating. But at the price I paid I can fully accept it and a Mazda isn’t very well known for insulation anyway

b) rear seat center row hump still a little high

c) the paint is very thin and chips quite easily

d) some minor cabin rattling. I suspect it’s not from factory but when the 3rd party removed ceiling panels or side panels to install the wiring for the rear camera. Not a big issue and I’m not prepared to deal with it anyway since more adjustment means higher tendency of Murphy’s law. Just turn up the radio

e) when going over humps, I hear a slight thud from the absorbers or mounts. I don’t know how to describe this as I’m not an expert but the m6 don’t seem to handle humps very well. I just go slow over them as that’s what humps are for anyway

f) the solar film absolutely sucks. No comments on this one

g) auto dimming rear view mirror - why go the auto route when I very much prefer a manual mirror. Sometimes at night the mirrors can be too dim and greenish for my liking. And there is nothing I can do about it. Just don’t get stuck in permanent dimming mode one day because I require it to be in normal mode when reversing (currently the mirror goes to normal mode when R is engaged)

h) fundamentals fundamentals - make a car that works for 10 years and not a car with a god zillion features that fail after a few months. Still too early to discuss about 2018 m6 reliability but keeping fingers crossed

I) TEK isn’t a fantastic dealer in terms of aftermarket service. I’m dying to have my car serviced outside

Overall, happy with the purchase. Quirky but given the current price point I cannot complain further.

Buy already don’t look back. Just enjoy

Was wondering if you hear a low-pitched rumbling sound when you shift to Reverse gear?

Hi Don,

I will check out provided dvr to see if I need to change but that will be 2 mths+ later unless coe bid mess up .. if I do, I will install the dvr battery.

My iRoad one in my forester was done by Foon Audio when installation my ICE and do recommend it since largest of the better known brand. Biggest blackvue one in my previous qashqai is lower capacity and older release.

Cheers.

I'm not so impressed by the blaupunkt 9.0 provided by TEK. It resets by itself sometimes and according to another mz6 owner, it heats up and shuts down after he installed a battery pack. End up cannot record 24/7. Makes me think twice about installing a battery pack... Maybe use it till it break down then change.. Edited by Hobbes187

Nope no problems or sounds when shifting to R. Maybe wanna flag out to stealership when you bring in for servicing?

My blaupunkt 9.0 wifi tongle not working. System resets by itself too. Seems like a waste if money and efforts by TEK to install this rubbish cam. Worst of all, u cannot say no and die die they must install it on your new car.

Nope, smooth and silent when changing to reverse. Unless what you hear is the sound of auto hold? (You can hear the e-park brake engaging)

I see. Mine is the standard one. Maybe it’s the difference between exec and standard.

Lppl have to wait.

Although been told that my coe is secured during the last bidding exercise. Car still like nowhere in sight.

Supercharged

Hi guys, how long did your key fob batteries last? Mine lasted only 1.5 years, before low battery warning message started to appear, which I find short, considering that I've also been swapping the 2 fobs every month (i.e. use one and keep the other spare one at home for a month and then swap them in the next month).

ð± btw is this blaupunkt known to drain the car battery? I used to have problems with my blackvue cam draining the car battery with my Honda.

It is not connected to work in parking mode. So it turns off after u off the car so won't be using the battery.

If u go outside and get someone to connect for parking mode directly to battery, I'm quite sure TEK will void the warranty. I asked if they offered battery pack or anything to enable parking mode but they don't.
