appears true

e.g

Audi A4 late 2014 listed price 225k

Current resale price 80-90k

agents frequently say, used audi tough to sell, so they press price low low [bigcry]

Like what have been said, if bought between 2013-2014, heart pain to sell now

new mazda3 model was launched in 2014 for 130kplus

Altis was between 125-130k too, Camry 160k plus

Well i guess if wanna drive an Audi, better to get a used one....at least lesser depreciation

2010 car b in jan was 19k. End up in dec was 70k liao. That yr was the return of the high coe liao. Haiz.

I rem back in 2009 new camry was like 80 90k. Hehe. No way will we see such prices liao.

Back in Feb 2009, bought new WRX manual @ $68k!!! Those were d days....

But do used Audi cars have many expensive problems?

I'm currently looking to change car and I have shortlisted 3 and all are discussed above. I have did my analysis and dropped other cars from my list and it's down to these 3 (not listed in sequence). For me, i'm looking more on the 2nd hand market and 1st hand if the price is right.

1. Audi A4 (2014/2015) 1.8 MU (11k to 11.5k depre)

2. Volvo S60 D2 (10k to 10.5k depre)

3. Mazda 6 (9k to 10k depre)

Hi Banz,

Ignoring ATAS Conti brand but not into Volvo S60 especially diesel since no plan for >300k km mileage which is what diesel excel on but at high maintenance with inherent vibration, noises etc. and can only say that A4 is is different animal altogether since performance orientated with much better driveability as compared to Mazda6.

Include ATAS Conti brand and it is A4 all the way albeit with higher cost of ownership and assured more trouble and $ on maintenance henceforth especially for a older 4-5 years old ride for the next 6-5 years if driven till scrap.

What do you wish for since quite different aspiration even if same depre ??   Seems you are into long term depre and $ consideration, Mazda6 seems more suitable ??

Cheers,

Richard

Hey Wt,

Oh no ...  just remembered zooming the A4 on the nshwy when I swapped my estima with my BIL as well as hitting 180kmhr with ease on Autobahn in Germany which the mazda6 cannot dream of unless the newly released 2.5T version.

Quite different cars in opinion and hence raised this consideration for our bro who is pulling hair like me 4 weeks ago until I booked the mazda6 ... and that was even without any performance car like new A4 included into the consideration since beyond my budget.

Cheers,

Richard

LOL

Was looking for used audi once, agent said good luck!

Audi A4/5/6/7/8, drive is great,

if unlucky, problems can be worse than migraine [smash]

If lucky, then great enjoyment [drivingcar]

Current Audi Owners will say NO :a-t2622: ...Ex Owners will say YES. [furious]  [bigcry]

When I was looking around 2 months ago, I also considered this 3. At that time my conclusion was:

1. Audi A4 at $149k - worried about reliability after 3 yrs. Good drive and interior. Looks I find so so.

2. Volvo S60 T5 at $148k - superb pick up. But interior a bit cramped. Like the looks.

3. Mazda 6 2.5L at $114k - good interior and size. Not a conti. Pick up not as good as the other 2 but good enough. Best thing is the price.

Ended up decided to keep the extra $35k in pocket and go with mazda

Mz6 2.5L at $114k? Good price ð²!! 2018 model?

2017.5 model. I got one of the last few units before they launched the 2018.

Feature wise similar to 2018 2.5L (sunroof, eloop etc) except no cylinder deactivation.

Good anlaysis.

I have done up a spreadsheet and include running costs, estimated repairs, etc.

I'm still not convinced on the Volvo but the A4 and Mazda 6 are within budget.

1. A4 is more on the fun factor

2. Mazda 6 is a beautifully designed car.

3. Running costs wise, the Mazda 6 beats hands down.

4. Let's not go to reliability which Audi's are really infamous for. It's more of how much $ I'm willing to absorb esp for a 4 to 5 year old car.

- I have a good friend driving an Audi A7 and I don't know how many weekends are spend at the workshops.

- He has recommended to drive the MU version (CVT) as it has "better" reliability then the S-tronic (DCT) models.

End of the day, it's juggling between wants and needs.

Note: The Mazda 6 is really luxurious comparing against Japs / Koreans of the same class.
