a car should be left in car park 24x7 to preserve the engine, suspension, memory seat motor and dont forget the headlight due to DRL ...

after 5 years can sell in sgcarmart and post “like new” ... sure can fetch good resale price ... muahahaha

Very true.

Road tax is paid once a year. Fuel cost, parking, ERP, speeding tickets, parking fines [laugh][laugh] are all weekly costs which is easily beyond the road tax of a 2.5L

And pls, very often bigger engines offer better fuel economy due to their far better power to weight ratio. A struggling tiny underpowered engine will not give u any decent fuel economy since its made to work so hard everytime it starts.

A more fuel efficient 2.5L will actually offer u lower running cost than a weak NA 1.6L

Very funny. Then why spend so much on such well equipped Mazda 6 then?

Buy lower end cars with full manual seat adj. Confirm no motor to burn out.

I also find it amazing that there are myth going ard that modern brushless electric motors have such short life span as compared to yesteryears tech..

i said the same too but I am helping my friend to ask question since he has no mcf account. Edited by Ct3833

helping my friend to ask a question, thanks in advance for your help.

his new Mazda 6 has driver memory seat, the seat will move back and return to preset position whenever he gets into the car, is this the correct setting and is there a way to disable it ? he is worried about the motor lief span.

Thanks.

Most likely your friend has a different seat position setting tied to his key fob. Program the desired seat position to the key fob. That way the seat will not reposition everytime he gets in the car.

A car is meant to be used. If there is too much worry about this spoil n that spoil, then the person is better off not owning a car. It simply creates additional stress for the owner

I will convey your message but that is not the answer he wants though.

It sounds like the seat is programmed to the key?

Try this? See attached screenshot from the owner's manual pg 2-13

No guarantee cos my car seat doesn't change position at all unless I manually trigger the stored memory

Yes. Features are meant to be used. If not, get one without electric seat settings.

Neutral Newbie

Hi,

getting my first Mazda 6 after 2 Toyotas. Am thinking if it is possible for me to change the air-con filter to a HEPA grade filter? Wonder if any of you has done that? Would appreciate advice on where to buy the filter, or where to change it? Thank you lots!

My M6 don't act like that, seat change position if I press 1 or 2, the remembered positions, otherwise, it would just remain it's current position.

I was doing some cleaning in car with two doors open for a while, then I notice that I can no longer switch on the interior light at the roof. After I closed the door, lock the car, and unlock the car, I can turn on the interior light. Is there an "auto off" function to the interior light, after door open for long?

Price increased by 4k... For 2.5 premium, anticipating COE increase..... Hmmm then it will probably impact my chances of getting COE....
