Hi just want to check if any bros here tried to stuff the gap between the windscreen and dashboard with rubber strip ( saw one on AliExpress) and if it helps to reduce noise in car?

Yah pretty frustrating without postal code... sometimes if the location is new, the nav may not store that postal code and I end up having to key in postal code of nearby buildings and take it from there

Yes, the on-board nav system is not updated. I've driven on roads that appear as just a plain field on the Nav map.

Safest way is to sucker your smartphone to the windscreen and just use Google Maps.

Alternatively, sucker in a proper GPS unit like Garmin or Tom Tom and you're all set.

Definitely better than the on-board Nav system.

Especially with the new lornie road...

Thanks ER. I switched on air-con when waiting for a red light, engine was idling. comparing before and after on air-con, the vibration was quite obvious. I used to drive a Toyota 2.5L before this 2.0 Mazda, there was no such issue with toyota. probably air-con put too much work to a 2.0 idling engine.

hi smith

The issue is well known in Mz3 earlier batches.

Not common in Mz6..but my 12mths old Mz6 2.0 also encountered.

The vibration caused by low idling is very irritating and should not happened.

Highlight to AD workshop and they should have a software updates.

I do not think that is normal. I would raise this with the service centre.

Anyone taking up the CarPlay option?

As expected TEK overcharging their customers again.

Depends on how much you feel that you'd need the features added by Carplay/ Android Auto.

Am not sure if the use of Android Auto/ Apple Carplay for the maps will sync with the Heads Up Display to tell you the directions. If it doesn't, then it'll be kind of pointless.

Managed to connect to online update for MZD GPS map. There is no update for my current version, map version 2017Q4 southeast Asia. MZD GPS is not bad, although some new places cannot be located on the map.

Apple CarPlay only sync with touch screen display and tell you the directions with traffic information but it cannot sync with Heads Up Display.

It is possible to use Voice Command or SIRI to find location or even make a call or watapps.

Personally, I think CarPlay is good to have but not a must have features.
