Mazda is just a normal jap carHi Roger Just comparing how they try to inflate prices .. stupidly to me since detered potential buyers. Even "normal" mazda executive is more luxuriously fitted than 197k bmw x3 that BIL booked last Sat .. with missed soft leather wrapped console and not to mentioned undersized and plastiky audi A3 and Q2 .. lol ! RogerNg_185295 6th Gear March 22, 2019 Share March 22, 2019 Its because of the prestige badge lah....... People buy it for the status, not specs and trim level. They heck care how it is fitted. Driving a BMW or other luxury makes already win over whatever Jap brands with Premium trim levels. RogerNg_185295 6th Gear March 22, 2019 Share March 22, 2019 But it still sells right? Thats the most important thing.Know the reason why it is selling well? Because customers want it this way. For a new buyer, that's looks like an amazing savings. I've been following the cost of the CX-5 for the past 6 months and in actual fact, the $127,800 is in line with the normal RRP of the car given the CoE trends. Strategy seems to be: Jack up the advertised RRP so that your actual RRP seems amazing.

MZTHREE 1st Gear March 22, 2019 Share March 22, 2019 Cat B COE certainly didn't shoot up $10000 between Nov 2018 to today, yet the CX5 Premium price shot up from $117k to $127k. Lets see who has a bigger carrot? CX5 premium was hovering between 120-125k from jun to oct. TEL only reduced the price significantly after the announcement of face lifted version. They have to do that to offload existing stocks. Well, coe went up by 8k and the face lifted version has a few more features - car play - digital speedometer - ventilated seats - 360 cam. ↡ Advertisement
