Thank u so much. Was thinking can connect direct to our car batt since the cam has low voltage cut out.

Additional battery kinda worrying for me as weekdays i park under the sun scared may heat up n catch fire.

Hi Peppa,

Bro Lawrence is for LiP04 Lithium battery specifically used for such car environment and hence the high price ... unlike sticking a mobile phone power bank into your car:

LiFePO4 (also known as Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries are a huge improvement over lead acid in weight, capacity and shelf life. The LiFePO4 batteries are the safest type of Lithium batteries as they will not overheat, and even if punctured they will not catch on fire. The cathode material in LiFePO4 batteries is not hazardous, and so poses no negative health hazards or environmental hazards. Due to the oxygen being bonded tightly to the molecule, there is no danger of the battery erupting into flames like there is with Lithium-Ion. The chemistry is so stable that LiFePO4 batteries will accept a charge from a lead-acid configured charger.

https://www.batterystuff.com/kb/articles/battery-articles/lithium-battery-overview.html

It is installed primarily under the seats passenger or driver and not exposed to neither high temp or combustible fuel/oil unlike usual car battery in engine compartment.

Connecting to car battery not designed for such DVR recorder will kill it prematurely due to finite cycles of charging/discharging and you need to set minimum voltage to assure battery remains strong enuff to start you car else more $ for battery replacement and the associated inconvenience or you may miss critical footage when you need it due to shut down at this minimum voltage.  Believe using the right tool of added LiFeP04 battery from well established blackvue, thinkware etc. is the way to go and I will avoid those cheap ones from tiongland.

Cheers,

Richard

7 weeks old Mazda 6 having clicking noise from infotainment panel/screen.

Seems to be an known issue. The experience is like your radio do not have good reception/interference.

I really thought so until yesterday i off the radio...

Have not knock over the panel/screen hard, but only done 3000+km. Seems like is workmanship problem...

Any bros experience this? Will TEK fix this noise?

Sample from other country but similar...

If i use the hand push the panel down the noise gone immediately.

Any bros experience this?

Just been to the Mazda Museum and realised the part on the rear door which the rubber strip that many people here are retrofitting. Quite unacceptable I find, only CX5 and above has.

hi guys, for the first servicing (1000km) how long does it usually take? an hour enough?

Mine took about 2h at Leng Kee several Saturdays ago. Chose to wait at their lounge. I think the wait time really depends on how many cars they have that day to work on.

hi guys, for the first servicing (1000km) how long does it usually take? an hour enough?

Really varies a lot.

1000km took about 1 hour - likely due to just basic checks only & done on mid-week

5000km took about 3 hours - was on a friday or weekend, can't remember

Mazda AD lounge is quite nice la, got small bites and coffee. If you see the lounge is packed, likely there is a long queue so you can plan to go somewhere else for a couple of hours first haha.

Went for service and feedback about front right suspension noise going over bump. Changed lower arm Bush. Fingers cross

How old is your car? Good luck man, hope it won't be pricey.

From my experience, Mazda 6's suspension is quite soft. Going over a typical hump at HDB estate without braking to 10-15km/hr is quite scary (I'm quite gentle to my car heh). When my car is filled with 5 passenger (including 1 driver), very likely will hear knocking (not sure is suspension going full out or literally scraping the hump) when going over humps at anything above that range so I'm extra careful.

My 5k servicing took about 3 hours.

I took the first slot at 8am Leng Kee centre.

It was completed at 1130. I found it to be quite slow.

Additionally, the service engineer did not explain or tell me more about the work that was done. They just get me to the cashier right away.

Waiting that long is kind of expected la.

I did my servicing at Ubi's and they aren't as bad as you mentioned hmm...
