Mercedes Benz are always overpriced,at first i am looking at the C Class Couple with a budget of $225,000,but only can get a C200 with a pony 4 Cyls Engine,finally settle with a BMW M240i,same price,but with a super 6 Cyls engine.

This is the one with the new Skyactiv-X engine.

 

It is a very high compression ratio petrol engine that can switch between compression-ignition (just like a diesel) and spark-controlled ignition (just like a normal petrol engine). It is touted to marry the benefits of the 2:

Better fuel economy

Good low-end torque without sacrificing peak-rev torque

Reduced emissions

 

The Skyactiv-X is supercharged by default, not to improve performance, but to allow precise control of the airflow entering the engine.

 

If you check out youtube, there have been numerous test-drives of the Skyactiv-X prototype and there are still some issues yet to be sorted out (such as engine knock, etc).

 

Hopefully these will have been ironed out by the official production model.

150-160k for CLA180 now ??

 

I would shoot for XC40 at 149k with cool thor headlights and SUV happy car.

I was initially thinking of getting the current model Mz3 for wifey when they lelong lelong to clear stock before the new one comes.

 

But the new one looks so nice that it's hard not to be enticed.

Exactly. I would suggest to wait since the exterior and interior looks even better with minimalist dashbord. Further, the new mazda 3 should come with CP and AA preinstalled

Indeed heard terribly s80 some 5 yrs back from neighbour but xc40 looks just nice for my wife, is an SUV and 350nm like my fxt which is way higher than 258Nm of even 2.5 mazda 6. However, it was 162k when looking and not 149k just 4 weeks later :(

 

Think ipad is fine since highest spec and it means easy replacement which some ws may jailbreak and not some proprietary aka expensive parts.
