MAZDA 6

1) May I know the Mazda 6 executive 2.0L (2018 FL) sold by TEK, what is the model code? is it GL ?

It seems tough to search for the body kits, accessories for GL models in taobao.

Any advise ?

2) Understand this model already comes with MZDConnect with Andriod Auto/Car play.

However, is there any available 3rd party Headunits to replace without losing the infotainment features ??

Example, I plan to use it to play .mp4 videos to the kids while the car is on the move.

Hi Patent,

Had wanted the CX5 since wife prefers a SUV but bought the mazda 6 execytive instead.

Notwithstanding slightly more $, the interior is a bit messed up and engine noise intrusion into cabin is higher.

Unfortunately RAV4 was not available back in Aug 2018 ...

Cheers.

Richard

Hi Patent,

Referring to CX5 .. leather type differs from mazda 6 exec and color stitching does not help.

Noise intrusion of CX5 compared to Mazda 6 is noticably higher which was explained to me being due to engine being nearer .. all yymv of course and do go test drive and examine.

But yes, mazda cars looks fine.

Push your budget by 10k and you may wish to test drive harrier turbo for its 350nm torque 224 bhp if you are a car lover .. all these 2.0l mazda 6, cx5 and Rav4 aint that powerful which means noisier engine and wanting even in slightly spirited driving mod.

Cheers.

M6 is definitely more value for money compared to CX-5. Agree with Richard, there is engine noise intrusion as the engine struggles to produce the torque.

There is never a right time to buy a car in Singapore especially with satellite ERP coming.

Seeking advice.

On the center aircon vents, I just realised that the one on the left side(away from driver) is more powerful in terms of the blower strength. Meaning you can feel more air blowing out when you put palm/ there. Is this normal?

Twincharged

Bro, u always give honest and very helpful feedback and opinion

Mazda cars, really depends how one drives

M6, if drive steady steady pom pi pi, its excellent value and great

If need to floor frequently and zoom zoom, better look elsewhere, if not sure will want to trade it off sooner or later  [shakehead]

Look at the no of 1-2 year old cars on sale, some even less than a year

Hey Car50,

Thanks .. make mistake also LL and must shared as-is else mislead other will not be nice notwithstanding my lack of experience and knowledge.

Also since truth only one and with failing memory, I hope not be caught being untruthful .. lol !

Indeed steady drive of mazda 6 is fine and my wife is happy with it especially with its nice FC of 8l/100 instead of 8km/l for my forester xt but it is not for me .. yet.

Cheers.

Have a question....Is everyone happy with their i-stop function? Don't think my i-stop is working at all, meaning after depressing the brake, i-stop symbol appears, engine shuts off but only for a few seconds, and it starts by itself.

Happens very often, anyone had same experience? Did asked the tech guy when the car went for 1000km servicing, said that possible reason is i-stop will start itself if cabin is warm as engine is cut off so does the aircon.

But this happen just a few seconds after activating i-stop can't be the reason!

Appreciate some views. Thanks

apparently it is the way the air con trunking is designed. i asked a few weeks back during servicing. lame. one of the few negatives i have with the car though. :D

ok im drive an M6, but i always off the Istop when i start my engine. but to share my experience with this start-stop function, is it because after depressing the brake, you let go of the brake after a few seconds? coz that happens in my previous volvo with auto start-stop. and from my knowledge, istop or any auto start-stop function, it has to meet several conditions before it is ready for activation. :D   i may not be 100% correct, but just sharing...

Yes, i-stop will disabled and engine restart itself, while the battery charge capacity lower.

This could happened while there are too many stopping or too long stopping, while the battery needs to power aircond, accessories, etc.. charge will eventually be drained down and engine needs to restart itself to restore battery charging again.
