Don't have la. Unless the XMM is taking a torchlight to shine up my nose, I don't think she will see anything.

 

Besides, why the heck would I care what she can see? And shouldn't she care more about what I can see when I look down my nose?

Exactly, use something that works better for you. Though, I wouldn't compare it with AT/MT. It's more like polishing with an electric orbital polisher vs. by hand. Same problem with polishing certain corners, where one still need to use hand and not machine. But the time and effort required in brushing teeth manually is insignificant compared with polishing a car.

 

I would, however, recommend everyone (older men) getting an electric nose trimmer. Too many men in SG don't trim their nose hair. [laugh] And not exactly easy to trim easily with scissors.

one thing that pisses me off about oral b is that it used ni-mh batteries instead of li-ion.

 

what about philips? I'm also hesitant about philps because I've had poor exp with their brand.

 

Oral B has a new Li-ion model but it costs more. But even with the ni-mh batteries, it really lasts years, so don't worry about battery life, just don't charge it everyday.

Hmm first i want AA battery powered ones cos i don't want recharging ports to be unsupervised. Also cost is obviously an issue, since this is just trying out.

 

The philips one recommended earlier by someone seems to have some risk of DOA. So this is the only Oral-B battery AA battery option available (but have to ship via forwarder here).

About 40 dollars for 2 given the conversion rate (excluding forwarding fee)

Oral B also lasted a long time for me. But one or two did eventually broke due to the switch.

But then the Oral B is only about $20 or less, bought from Amazon.

The price of the toothbrush head is more of a killer, but then I use compatibles which reduce the cost drastically.

 

Been thinking about Philips Sonicare too, but maybe it's more "advanced" , work harder and die faster.

I tried compatible before, very lousy, the brushhead doesn't clean as well after a few weeks. What are you using? Maybe I can try.

 

I usually buy original from Amazon, much cheaper. Now they have the 8 units pack, lagi cheap.

Well, it has 1000+ reviews at 4.5 stars which means it must be really good.

We have moved from electric toothbrush to air/ water flosser, to nostril hair trimmer to public hair trimmer. Lol...

 

My vote goes to Phillips Norelco 7100.

medically I read the the nostril hair have a function to help keep dirt out too.

For the 2000 series onward to 8000 series, the top performance has two axis movement which they call 3D movement,  pulsating at 40,000 pulse/min and oscillating  8800 osc/min

 

For 1000 series, still 3D movement, pulsating at 20,000 pulse /min and 8800 osc/min

 

Any series lesser like 500, 650 , Vitality are just 2D, only oscillation . and it' 7600 osc/min.

 

So if you want top performance, the 2000 will do, as it perform as good as the 8000 series, but without the bells and whistles. But the 3000 are most popular becoz strangely the price difference sometimes on Qoo or Ebay with discount not much difference from the 2000. Ebay can get for under $70 for the 2000 series, last checked one year ago.

True. Thanks for the info. Kinda confusing with too many models out there.

But to me anything that doesn't use aa battery is likely to become a white elephant. Hence my shortlist ing of only the specific models.

 

I will try first then Kiv in future change to a higher end model if it's really worthwhile in the long run.
