Finally got myself a HX8911/02...... wah how you all on max power..... now I know why clean.... the feeling like the dentist using their gear to clean your teeth.... WOW.... cannot tahan.... switch to low first....  [grin]

Starting is like that one.. That's why got low speed to slowly get use to brushing with Electric toothbrush.  But 3 months down the road, low and medium speed really no kick. Go for full speed.I have the 8911 too..

I tried compatible before, very lousy, the brushhead doesn't clean as well after a few weeks. What are you using? Maybe I can try.

I usually buy original from Amazon, much cheaper. Now they have the 8 units pack, lagi cheap.

I bought this EB17,

It works very well, except the fitting is slightly tighter than the original.

Not a problem, just push in a bit harder, that's all.

The bristle brush head also last quite a long time.

At those kind of price...your $1 goes a long long way.

There's another model EB20, which I haven't try

When comparing Oral B, there one thing to take note, i.e the top speed of the model. I mentioned this earlier, eventually, most users will end up using only one mode for their daily cleaning and that is the top speed.

For the 2000 series onward to 8000 series, the top performance has two axis movement which they call 3D movement, pulsating at 40,000 pulse/min and oscillating 8800 osc/min

For 1000 series, still 3D movement, pulsating at 20,000 pulse /min and 8800 osc/min

Any series lesser like 500, 650 , Vitality are just 2D, only oscillation . and it' 7600 osc/min.

So if you want top performance, the 2000 will do, as it perform as good as the 8000 series, but without the bells and whistles. But the 3000 are most popular becoz strangely the price difference sometimes on Qoo or Ebay with discount not much difference from the 2000. Ebay can get for under $70 for the 2000 series, last checked one year ago.

Cannot la.

2000 series got no Bluetooth to sync with my phone leh.

True. Thanks for the info. Kinda confusing with too many models out there.

But to me anything that doesn't use aa battery is likely to become a white elephant. Hence my shortlist ing of only the specific models.

I will try first then Kiv in future change to a higher end model if it's really worthwhile in the long run.

$19 all in.  This was my 1st electric Toothbrush. At 7600 osc/min, it performs just as great as those pro 500 series or vitality. Operates on 2X AA.

Many thanks. Will get this!

I use that also.

Remember you can get cheap generic toothbrush head for $1 each.

You can use NiMH AA rechargeables.

There's a O-ring where the bottom clips on.

Use vaseline or silicone oil to lubricate the o-ring.

It'll make the bottom clip on easier.

One time I forced it and cracked the plastic. Use lubricant and you won't have this problem.
