From 4 to 2 lanes? CCB LTA. This might increase my commute by 15 mins or more.

Southbound Lornie Road will be reduced from 4 to 2 lanes. Wonder what the freed up land will become.

Actually most impt, is the PIE exit to Lornie fixed? Since 7-8yrs ago, the bottleneck to exit is crazy.. earlier this yr still the same problem..

No La. It is still 4 lanes and the lanes are wider in the new connection. The 2 lanes will be the one that will soon be the old lornie road. That soon to be old road will be converted to 2 lanes only to cater for residents stay there.

Ah i see... Thanks for the clarification.

From LTA photos, looks like the soon-to-be-old Southbound Lornie will still be available as a backup route to get to Adam Rd in case of heavy congestion on the new Lornie Highway.

The current 4 lane road on each direction is narrow.

Hope the new road will have wider 4 lane road on each direction.

That Jalan Anak junction was poorly designed in the first place.  When it first open, for example, there were only 2 waiting lanes for traffic heading to PIE (both City and Tuas), Dunearn, Beauty World (right turn), or U turn.  An additional lane was added within 1-2 months!

I sent my suggestions to the MP, who forwarded to a junior ministar, but the MP retired, the ministar got kicked out, and the situation remains till today!

Of course, we know congestion is designed in everywhere to justify erecting ERP.  Just look at the recent works done at Clementi Road.  It should have been an elevated road from Dover to Sunset Way like Serangoon rather than just having bigger (and more dangerous) junctions.

Most of the roads here are poorly designed la, many roads are super jam packed before all traffic junction de. No matter who you feedback to, there is nothing that they can do anything about it lo.

Another road default always jam packed is balestier rd traffic junction near thomson hospital towards the PIE. The distance for cars to turn right from the junction to the entrance is way too short. So lead to super heavy and chaotic traffic.

Thats why i have doubts that this lornie highway will help in reducing the super heavy traffic in this area?!

Actually road here not bad already. The problem is the traffic light timing. A lot of the time is because there are no synconise of traffic light, those traffic light that is quite near to each other may turn red and green at different timing. This is especially so for the traffic light that is for pedestrian to cross only.

Imagine the pedestrian traffic light turn red, cars all stopped, further down 50m the main traffic light is green. Then the pedestrian traffic light turn green, the main traffic light is now red. End up time wasted and cause traffic built up.

Haven't open to traffic, you already have doubts.

You are correct ...... They are not trying to solve the Lornie rd problem , because they were the one that caused the problem with high ERP in CTE .   :XD:  (actually the problem to the jam is mainly Farrer in the morning and PIE in the evening)

No Jam , No ERP ......... so conclusion is "Dont solve the problem"  [grin]

True, traffic built up always happened on our roads due to poor design of the road and the traffic light timing. You can always see traffic light is green for vehicles to move off, but next traffic light is red! If you feedback to LTA on this problem, they will give you all sort of excuses that their traffic light setting have no problem at all.  -_-

Supercharged

The lornie road jam towards Upper Thomson Road in the evening is indeed caused by the two ERP gantries before Braddell flyover.

Plus the one on PIE near Stevens Rd exit.
