  1. Bloody hell.. kena my first speeding ticket on this stretch of road after 18 years of driving. $150 and 6 points. Today saw the COP on top again.. fella was using the machine to point at cars from their back instead of those facing him.. darn it.. such underhanded way to meet their target.. I cant imagine the TP gota resort to this means.

  7. Hey peeps just to warn you guys about the U-turn at Lornie Road towards AMK/Bishan/Toa Payoh/Upper Thomson. Yesterday I almost got into an accident and I'm sure there were a few others who shared the same sentiments. At around 6.30pm, I was happily travelling at 80-90 km/h on lane 2 along this route and suddenly a lorry emerged from the U-turn. The manner in which he did the U-turn was slow and it took up 3 lanes altogether! And all these happened for at least 5 seconds. The Merc on lane 1 which was travelling around the same speed had to come to virtually a stop as well as a few others, including me. I could smell the rubber being burnt and I'm very sure some vehicles applied emergency brakes to avoid collision with this lorry. To the lorry driver, please don't be so inconsiderate. Do not think that by getting a Bangladesh to stick out his hand out of your lorry we must all stop for you. To the rest, please be warned along the stretch of Lornie Road near this U-turn.
  8. Hi Just wondering if you guys ever experience the flash while driving through the green light? All the vehicles had already stopped as previously it was red light Then when the light turn green and the cars moved there was the bright and mighty flash. The flash took around 5 cars ahead. So 5 cars x 200 each is a whooping $1k Is this a happy new year stunt?
  9. Sianz.... Just went to fetch my daughter from church camp and kena red light traffic camera along Lornie Road toward BKE ramp. It's pitch dark at that area and I underestimated the distance from the stop line when it turned amber. Did some check and I suppose 200 bucks with 12 demerit point can't escape liao. One question is, will be charged at court or not har?
  10. where are these white ants? i thought they are not supposed to be hiding?
  11. Question on preservation of Bukit Brown aside, why can't Lornie Rd be widened to ease traffic jam? Isn't it cheaper and quicker to widen the existing road than to build a new one cutting thru the cemetery?
  12. Every morning when I pass by the pie lornie road exit, towards changi, I am always amazed at the long q of cars. Anyone actually takes that exit in the morning? Just curious how long does it takes for u to go up the slope and hit lornie road? Evening q too.
  13. Hi biatch owner of the silver E-Class at 2110 along Lornie Road towards Farrer Road, Not only you almost grazed the side of my car, you simply can't keep within your own lane and yet you have the farking audacity to horn and flash others in front of you. You truly deserve all the horning and fingers shown by myself and others. And to the white Corolla, just in case you misunderstood my actions, it was all against this farking half-wit biatch. I can see that you were one of the victims too. Please look out for this car folks, cuz the owner can't drive for shlt.

  15. Hi all As those who drive along Lornie Road knows, it is jammed from 730-930am daily despite the addition of another lane, these few days, my IU has been beeping at the same spot along Lornie Road (cashcard less than $5. The beeping is similar as when you pass through an ERP gantry and indicates low value cashcard.. Thus, I'm suspecting LTA is installing an ERP along Lornie Road soon, please insert a low value cashcard and try driving pass Lornie Road, it is always the same spot where my IU will beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppppp.. Osiris EDIT. Add Suspected to the title. You are not announcing a confirm new gantry. It's speculation on your part
  16. more ERP, opps, good years ahead??? Lornie jams persist Vehicles entering Lornie Road at a faster rate; LTA to widen road in stages By Christopher Tan Motorists complain that the $34 million viaduct, which took four years to complete, might even have worsened congestion along Lornie Road (towards Farrer Road) during peak hours. -- ST PHOTO: FRANCIS ONG THE new Lornie Viaduct - built to speed up traffic flow at the Braddell-Lornie junction - is barely a week old, but it is already chock-a-block in the mornings and early evenings. Motorists complain that the $34 million viaduct, which took four years to complete, might even have worsened congestion along Lornie Road (towards Farrer Road) during peak hours. Ms Jalene Chua, 39, a manager at a local company, said: 'I was really excited when I learnt that the new viaduct was finally ready for use after four long years. So you can imagine my dismay when I was stuck in an even worse traffic jam on Monday morning.' Ms Chua, who lives in Lorong Chuan, was on the viaduct around 7.45am. To beat the jam, she left earlier the next day. 'Flow on the viaduct was smooth, but there was a massive jam right after it, all the way to Farrer Road. I am taking at least five minutes more than before the viaduct was open,' she said. Checks by The Straits Times confirmed this. Retired traffic planner Joseph Yee, 63, reckons the viaduct is 'funnelling' vehicles into Lornie Road 'at a faster rate', and that could have contributed to the bigger jam. A Land Transport Authority spokesman said it is aware of the situation. 'To alleviate the traffic condition, we will widen Lornie Road in stages,' he told The Straits Times. 'Works have started and will continue over the next few months.'
  17. Ants spotted on overhead bridge at Lornie rd on 02 Mar 2009, 5pm. Traffic heading towards Thomson rd. Drive with care.
  18. I wonder how many mcfers were affected by the jam at lornie this morning.
  19. Rising over the existing MacRitchie flyover, it is also the highest viaduct here, reaching nearly 20m above ground - almost eight stories high - at its crest. IT HAS taken four years in the making, caused the felling of an 80-year-old tree and is probably not for those with acute acrophobia. Welcome to the Lornie Viaduct, Singapore's newest elevated road which links Braddell Road and Lornie Road. Rising over the existing MacRitchie flyover, it is also the highest viaduct here, reaching nearly 20m above ground - almost eight stories high - at its crest. Work on the $34 million project started at end-2004. With its opening on Sunday, motorists can now bypass another busy traffic interchange. Senior Minister of State for Transport Ms Lim Hwee Hua, who officiated at its opening ceremony on Saturday, said: 'This much awaited direct connection between Lornie and Braddell roads will allow motorists to bypass two traffic junctions, thereby reducing travel time by an estimated four minutes.' In fact, they can travel from Bartley Road to Queensway - a distance spanning some 17km - with only one interruption: traffic lights near the Singapore Island Country Club on Lornie Road. Ms Lim also described the opening of the viaduct as another step towards completing the $400 million Outer Ring Road System (ORRS). The ORRS forms a circle along the outer areas of the city, and will eventually provide a non-stop link between Marine Parade and Queenstown. Lesser Traffic Jam
  20. Anybody knew what happened this morning at Lornie Road? I was stuck from Marymount Rd all the way to Shell at Lornie Road for 40 mins. 40 mins is the usual time I take to get to my office. Finally I detoured to CTE to continue my journey. Thank God for ERP. If CTE also jam, then jia lat already. At least I did not get to office too late for an important meeting in the morning.
